Amazing that the Clinton rape stories got swept under the carpet while Michael Moore released a series of books and movies slandering George Bush and making a litany of accusations against him.

I think it's bogus. One of the most prominent accusers is Janice Dickinson. Since she's somewhat famous, her charges against Cosby might seem more credible, until you look into her past.

This lady was with Stallone and told him her child was his when it turns out it wasn't. She also said Stallone did steroids. Stallone called her a liar.

This lady said Bob Barker (from The Price is Right) coerced her into sex acts. But another woman claims that Janice performed oral sex on Bob Barker in her presence of her own free will.

Now she is claiming that Cosby drugged and raped her back in 82 and that she had to omit this from her book, probably due to pressure from the publisher. But instead of saying that Cosby raped her, she claimed that he actually rebuffed her advances and brushed her off. So which is it? Did he rape you and you woke up with semen dripping down your leg or did he brush you off? That's quite a contrast. It's one thing to omit a rape from your book. It's quite another to say you tried to get at someone and couldn't.

So she (Janice Dickinson) has no credibility. I don't trust the rest of the women accusing either. Why? Because of Tiger Woods.

With Tiger Woods, a bunch of women came out and said he fornicated with them. One of them was revealed to be someone who went to a bar with her boyfriend, and talked some random black guy into doing a porno with them. He agreed. So this fella being dark skinned uses body paint to lighten up his skin and impersonate Tiger Woods in a porno movie spoofing the golf great. She then takes this porno tape and tells the media that she has proof she was one of Tiger Wood's paramours. Unbelievable but true.

Based on people's propensity for lying against celebrities, whatever their ulterior motives, or whoever is behind them putting them up to it, I just don't see these allegations against Mr Bill Cosby as deserving of any serious merit unless someone can actually prove what they say. Period.

Alfa, you believe that ALL these women made up these allegations? I would agree with you on Janice Dickinson being a little crazy. I don't think any of these women have much to gain by this. Who the hell wants publicity for being drugged and raped? If I was accused of drugging and raping 18 women and I didn't do it, I wouldn't keep quiet.

What we believe is irrelevant. If the man was on trial and his freedom was at stake, it would be wrong to imprison him unless these people can actually prove these allegations. If they all decided it wasn't worth mentioning (highly unusual) and kept it mum till now, then why now?

You must be referring to defamation of character lawsuits, over ruining and tarnishing his brand. But does anyone realistically expect him (Cosby) who is worth A LOT of money to sue 18 crumbs who don't have a pot to piss in? He is supposed to hire a million dollar lawyer to drain his finances (after he already is losing lucrative deals over this) and prolong a scandal in the media which further damages his brand and cannot be proven either true or false? No, he wouldn't waste his time on that.

Ya'll should consider a few things: anything stated by anyone can be inculpatory and impugn one's defense in a criminal or civil proceeding. So, the least stated, the better.

In 1997, a federal prosecutor obtained a conviction of Autumn Jackson for trying to extort $40 million from Cosby by threatening to reveal that she was his illegitimate daughter.

Also, none of the 18(?) women who claim that Cosby raped or otherwise molested them requested prosecution of him and only one ever filed a lawsuit against him which was settled out of court. One of the alleged victims is Terese Serignese who continued to have a 20 year relationship with Cosby which included at least one sexual encounter.

He hasn't spoken on it yet, but I have my doubts. 18 came out with the same similar story within a short period of time. It's just the timing of this and his shows are quite a coincidence to me.

When the story was first posted here a few weeks ago I dismissed it as the work of a failed actress looking for publicity. But as I posted yesterday, where there's smoke there's fire. So I'm not so sure anymore.

Let's put it this way: I really HOPE that it isn't true. But nothing shocks me anymore, especially with your Hollywood types.

Same for me. I'd be disappointed to find out that all this is true considering that Cosby seems to be very "parental". But, sad to say, little surprises me anymore.

I think most of these cases were before dna testing, now, I don't think they can find any dna now anywhere can they?

DNA can remain intact for a very long time. It depends on the environemnt in which it is maintained.

As I posted above though, in lieu of DNA testing, it would seem that out of 18 claimants, at least one would have pursued a prosecution.
