I'm sorry but I cannot agree to this drastic move made by this Maryland school district. I will list my reasons

1) It's completely unfounded and only on the basis of the ever present 'political correctness' machine

2) People are too sensitive. Why do Yom Kippur and Christmas have to marginalize someone because not every one celebrates it?

3) My biggest concern of all is the way we constantly cave into minorities who claim they aren't getting a fair shake. Europe's worse, but even so, we must remember our roots. This country, while having no official national religion was built on principles of the Enlightenment and the Judeo-Christian ethic. Muslims never had nor will they ever be a part of that ethic. They are welcome to immigrate and create their fortunes just like the rest of us and become Americans. However, we have our traditions and we have our culture. The majority of people in this country are either Christian or some form of it and the vast majority celebrate the holiday in either a religious or commercialized way.

The kids getting time off are not on 'winter break'. It's Christmas break whether anyone wants to admit it or not. Muslims, who make not even a fraction of the American population do not deserve the privilege of time off for their holidays because Islam is not widespread here nor is it ingrained like Christianity has. Who the hell knows about any Muslim holiday?

I'm not particularly religious, but I know bullshit when I see it. And this is utter nonsense in the name of placating a minority all because of the names 'Passover' 'Christmas' and 'Easter. Diversity my ass.

I'm so tired of being politically correct. This country was BUILT on Judeo-Christian values, and yes, Judeo-Christian worship. Now these people can't get a holiday to chant to Elijah Barack Abu, or whatever their pseudo-deity's name is, so everyone has to suffer for it.

Islam is a religion steeped in hatred, and I'm tired of holding my tongue about it. If they don't like it here, they should just leave. They hate us anyway. You know, when I was a little kid back in the '60s, and the Vietnam war was raging full force, a lot of the hippies were enraged by the older generation for having an "America: Love It or Leave It" attitude. And for most of my life I shared that anger. Today I'm starting to realize that those old timers were probably right. They really were The Greatest Generation.

Many of the Founding Fathers were deists or some form of Christianity. Though not all were profoundly religious, most if not all always spoke of 'divine providence' including Washington, Jefferson, and John Adams. They combined liberty, reason, free thinking, and freedom with certain religious proponents to create the nation we have today.

We abide by the principles in the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution. And though we have no official religion as I stated before, we do have culture and we do have tradition.

Christmas and Easter are part of that tradition. So are certain Jewish holidays. Whatever this stupid holiday Muslims want is not. They don't like it, as PB said they can take it back to the Middle East.

Islam, whatever people think it is, is an unstable religion. There is a growing amount of radicals in their communities and homes. There are millions of people of that so called faith that want us dead. No matter how much they're in the minority, it's still large, aggressive and blood thirsty.

As long as I live and when/if I have kids, they will not be exposed to any such inkling of Islamic culture. I don't think any society should be based purely off religion, but if I had to choose one, you bet your ass I'll take Judaism or Christianity.

I have a real problem with Islam because of 9/11. Now I know most of them are not like that, but I lost a person I knew, (not a close friend, but I felt the loss) so it hurt. So I don't want Muslims calling the shots. That being said, I don't want any other religion controlling the government, either. Not even my own. I can't trust them anymore, because of the way they covered for predators. And they want to ban birth control, do you want them telling you how many kids you must have? So I do want the church and state to be separate.

There used to be a Norweign hall in Bay Ridge here in Brooklyn. Now it is a masque. I go to a movies sometimes in Bay Ridge it was is called the Alpine. It still called that and it still is a movie. But their is a Mosque next to it. The neighbor hood is all Muslem now.

You know, I didn't plan on posting here ever again because frankly, I don't that have that much to contribute to this site. I do still browse here, some of the online discussions are definitely worthwhile.

This subject does strike me in a big way though.

I honestly believe in a 100 years from now people will conclude that Europe's biggest mistake since Hitler was allowing mass Muslim immigration. In my country, the Netherlands, we have big problems with criminal arab youth and a ever growing muslim population that despises christian/jewish culture, harasses our women in the streets for not wearing a fucking burqa, and keeps on building mosques everywhere while complaining about and even demolishing churches.

The worst thing about it is that our politicians are weak, spineless assholes who keep avoiding the growing problems.

As we speak, mass immigration keeps going on every day from Africa and the Middle East to our shores and we are slowly becoming a minority on our own continent.

I love my country and I'm a proud Dutch but when I look at the future of this continent, I would love to take my family and immigrate to the U.S. simply because Europe thinks that having no military to speak of (save for England) and allowing millions and millions of arabs that essentially hate our culture to settle here is the way to go.

That's why I'm surprised by this news article and would just like to say to beware of allowing it to go far. Because Holland and Europe already have.

Here we have national talkshows that ban alcohol for everybody at the table when a muslim guest visits, just because he might get offended . In our parliament the chairman actually has a Koran on her table because her party wants to appease the muslim population. It's fucking sad.
