When you look on the Edit Preferences menu you will find a line showing you what the current time is on the Board's server. Compare that to what time you have on your computer now. The difference should be set as your default. I suspect it MAY be -4 hours for Cali.

Thanks but it's 9:40 a.m. here and I don't see that option. I see a 17:38 and wonder IF that's military time for the same. confused

On the line above that you can change the way in which the time is shown... 17:38 is 5:38 in "normal people time" (LOL). Since it's probably 9:38 a.m. in Cali the difference would be -8.

Current server time is: 11/02/14 01:46 PM
Choose your time offset in hours: (..,-2,-1,0,1,2,..)

I put in -8 and this is what it shows

If it says the current server time is 1:46 pm you should do the math between that and what time it really is where you live. If you're in Cali then it should be 9:46 am and the difference would be -4

When you are dealing with military time TIS you always subtract 12 and that will give you the correct regular time

13:52 is 1:52 pm. That is the time that the server is on. That is East coast time (without being adjusted for daylight savings). I wouldn't worry about it ... it should still work correctly as far as the "minutes ago" feature works. Otherwise your setting should be -4 hours in California. AND CHANGE THE FORMAT ON THE LINE ABOVE WHERE IT SHOWS THE CURRENT SERVER TIME

TIS go to the preferences and make it look like THIS

What time format do you want to use?
11/02/14 06:03pm

Current server time is: 11/02/14 02:02 PM
Choose your time offset in hours: (..,-2,-1,0,1,2,..)
-4
