In another post it was said that the Genovese family wasn't as violent as the others.
This isn't true, unlike the other families not having had as boss a John Gotti or Gaspipe Casso, never lost power.
Tieri or Gigante as boss have used violence only to extend their influence as the murder of Caponigro to take his bussiness in the North Jersey or their power.

Make a list of all the people killed or family soldiers whacked it's hard but I'll try.

Then, it was finally time to begin building the Jacob Javits Center in Hell's Kitchen, which would turn into a tremendous money maker. Because the construction site was in Hell's Kitchen that made it Mickey Spillane's territory, but, the Genovese Family boss Anthony "Fat Tony" Salerno didn't like that, so, he sent a freelance Irish hitman from Queens by name of Joseph "Mad Dog" Sullivan to get rid of some of Spillane's main men.

Tom Devaney (d. July 20, 1976)
Edward "Eddie The Butcher" Cummiskey (died August 20, 1976)
Thomas Kapatos, also known as "The Greek" (died January 22, 1977)
Michael J. Spillane, much better known as Mickey Spillane (July 13, 1934 – May 13, 1977)

The body of genovese soldier angelo chieppa (53, of 364 Beaufort Avenue in Livingston) was found with 2 bullets in the head 20 may 1973 in the trunk of his wife’s cadillac, he had worked 30 years for Boiardo. his brother is Larry Chieppa. The shooter could have been James "jimmy Higgins" Palmieri. Chieppa would have been a bodyguard for Boiardo.

24 November 1973 was Boiardo associate John Malanga (68 of Belleville) found with a bullet wound behind the ear in his car on Third Street near First Avenue in Newark.

Carmine Consalvo "suicide"
Gambino member and cocainedealer Carmine Consalvo was 7 september 1975 thrown through his window at the 16th floor.

Francesco "Frank" Consalvo "suicide"
Two weeks later his brother Francesso "Frank" Consalvo had the same happen to him when members of the Gambino family threw him from his appartment because he wanted to avenge his brother. They were killed at the orders of Vincent Gigante because they had to stand trial on a heroinindictment.Loanshark Vincent “Vinnie” capone (39) was shot and killed in august 1976 in Hoboken when he stopped his Cadillac in front of a red light with a .22 a hit allegedly ordered by John Digilio jr. Capone would start to inform on DiGilio

Bok Chung “Frank Chin” (48) professional wiretapper was gunned down with 6 bullets to the head by Genovese killer Richard DeSciscio in a new York City apartment building 20 january 1977 He was a potential witness against Digilio who had hired him to screen the gangster’s offices for police eavesdropping devices and had agreed to testify against the Hudson County gangster. The .22 caliber slugs that killed Capone and Chin came
from the same weapon and both were connected to DiGilio. Bugs installed by Chin in the East side digs of dutch prostitute Xaviera Hollander yielded the raw material for her 1972 book “The happy hooker”. According to time magazine it was also Chin who had sold the Watergate burglars the electronic eavesdropping equipment they had in their possession when arrested.

Teamsters Local 945 (waste) Business agent and Genovese soldier John "Johnny Cokes" Lardiere killed
In 1977, Lardiere, an associate in the Genovese crime family, was being held at the Clinton Reformatory, a women's prison that also held a small number of male inmates. Johnny Cokes--the nickname stemmed from his childhood home in Newark around the corner from a Coca-Cola bottling plant--had been convicted of contempt of court for refusing to testify about organized crime activity in New Jersey before the State Commission of Investigation. He wasn't the only wiseguy cooling his heels for repeatedly taking the fifth before the commission. But as their incarceration dragged on and weeks turned into months, their mob solidarity began to crumble and tempers grew short. Lardiere had irritated the others all along with his big mouth and in-your-face personality. The way Ricciardi had heard it, Lardiere and a fellow mobster got into an argument one day, the culmination of a festering animosity between the two men. The confrontation escalated and turned ugly. By showing this kind of disrespect, Lardiere sealed his own fate. On Sunday, April 10, 1977, Lardiere was granted a 26-hour furlough to observe the Easter holiday. Around 2:30 Easter morning, Lardiere checked into the Red Bull Inn on Route 22 in Bridgewater. After registering at the front desk, he got into his car and moved it closer to his room, parking outside room 235. He shut off the engine and retrieved his suitcase from the trunk. Suddenly a man wearing a hat came out of the shadows and called out to Lardiere. According to Ricciardi's sworn statements, Lardiere looked up to find Michael Coppola standing before him holding a .22 automatic pistol fitted with a silencer. Coppola raised the gun, took aim at Lardiere, and squeezed the trigger. But the gun didn't fire. Coppola pulled the trigger again, but it still wouldn't fire. The gun was jammed. Lardiere's initial shock quickly turned to contempt. Coppola had come to a hit with a half-assed weapon. What the hell kind of hitman was he supposed to be? That's when Lardiere recited the mocking line that would make him famous: "What're you gonna do now, tough guy?" But Johnny Cokes had underestimated Michael Coppola. According to Ricciardi, Coppola discarded the .22, rolled up his pant leg, and pulled out a .38 revolver from an ankle holster. He pointed the backup gun at his target and started firing. Someone at the motel heard the shots and called the police. A Bridgewater patrolman parked nearby rushed to the scene and found Lardiere's body sprawled on the pavement, the key to room 235 clutched in his lifeless hand. The jammed .22 and the murder weapon were found at the scene. Later that night an ankle holster and a blue hat were discovered nearby. Despite exhaustive efforts by police to identify the shooter, no suspects were ever
pinpointed. The case languished. Michael J Coppola of the Genovese family is the underboss of Tino Fiumara.

Genovese underboss Carmine "Eli" Zeccardi disappears
In april 1977 disappears Genovese underboss Eli Zeccardi (67). Also disappeared that month his righthand Dominick Dequatro (55). Tieri was also suspected in the murder and disappearance of Eli Zeccardi. Eli Zicardi, who ruled the numbers game for the Genovese family (underboss or Tieri???), was kidnapped according to Tieri by Michael J. Spillane a gangsterboss who rules Hell`s Kitchen. After the ransom was paid they didn't set him free but killed him and had the body disappear.
Genovese boss Lombardo, Underboss Alphonse Frank "Funzi" Tieri, Consiglieri Alongi

Nicholas "Jiggs" Forlano dies
Nicholas “Jiggs” Forlano and his partner Charles “Ruby” Stein (wo worked for the Genovese family) are the biggest loansharks in New York but worked for all the 5 New York families. Forlano scares Julio Grazia (who
owns Stein still 150000 dollars) so much that he goes to Vito Genovese’s brother Michael who settles the argument, Grazia is related through his wife to the brothers genovese. Forlano (62) died of a heart attack in
april?? 1977 allegedly at a race track. a week later Ruby Stein’s body was found floating.

New York’s biggest loanshark Ruby Stein killed
5 May 1977 was New York`s biggest loanshark Ruby Stein , who works for the Genovese family, invited by his friend Jimmy Coonan the leader of the violent Westies. When Coonan lets him in and closes the door, Gambino
soldier Danny Grillo stormed into the room and shot Stein dead. Also there were the Westies Richie Ryan, Billy

Beattie and Tommy Hess. Nick "the Greek" Kagabines dumped the cut to pieces body into the river.

Lawyer Gino Gallina
the lawyer Gino Gallina (42) had testified in Newark about a killerteam armed with caliber 22 pistols with sounddempers who had at least killed 20 people the last 2 years under whom 6 FBI informants, the murders were
committed at the orders of the Genovese men in New Jersey Vincent Gigante, John DiGilio, Salvatore Briguglio and Tommy Principe.

Genovese associate Patrick Presenzano killed
23 March 1978 police find the body of Patrick Presenzano who was connected to the Genovese in Brooklyn, he was a suspect in narcotics selling in the Fulton Fish Market area.

Pasquale Macchirole
Pasquale Macchirole had owned a truck and freight company (Frigid??) in Jersey City, new Jersey. He was a loanshark and partner of James Napoli with whom he had to stand trial. There is a theory that he and Briguglio
had tried to take over Local 560 while Provenzano was in trouble with the law.

Pasquale Macchirole killed
23 March 1978 the body of Pasquale Macchirole was found in the trunk of a car along the road in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Later witness Peter Savino testified that Macchirole's murderer was Salvatore "Sally Dogs" Lombardi
who was imprisoned in october 1992 with Joey "Mann" Maniscalco, Allie Boy Cuomo and john "moose" marone, but was spoken free of the murder. in the other case against Lombardi was the witness Tommy Demino who had worked
for Maniscalco. Macchirole had been missing for 3 weeks and was thought to have been buried and then been dug up again to be left in a place to be found.

Macchirole collector Leopold Ladenhauf killed
24 march 1978 was the body of the killed Pasquale Macchirole “collector”Leopold Ladenhauf found in the trunk of his car parked at Kennedy International Airport. With Ladenhauf's body police found a document signed by Raneri in which he agreed to turn over the restaurant to Ladenhauf and Crimi if he failed to make his payments. Crimi was indicted for Ladenhauf's murder but was acquitted, also had stood on trial for Ladenhaufs murder Rudy Calalgari and John Cody's driver Bruce Kay. Bruce Kay was found in the trunk of his car at La Guardia Airport, less then a year after this arrest.

Pasquale Macchirole's son John Macchirole killed
Pasquale's son John Macchirole was murdered a few weeks after his father, the murder of John Macchirole {the son of Paddy Mac} came from the book Ency. of Organized Crime by Jay Nash.

116th Street crew Genovese capo Vincent Di Napoli
Di Napoli was also suspected of ordering the 1976 murder of Danny Evangelista, a dissident union leader of Local 385, who was shot to death while sitting at his desk at Local 385 headquarters. Evangelista had opposed

Genovese candidate Theodore Maritas candidacy for the district council presidency.

New Jersey based Genovese capo Boiardo soldier Anthony “Little pussy” Russo (63) killed
26 April 1979 Anthony Russo was found murdered by his associate Louis “killer Louie”Ferraro in his locked apartment in Harbor Island Spa in pin Long Branch, NJ supposedly because he had gotten Patrick Pizzuto into
the family who became an informant. His killers were according to an informer Thomas “Pee Wee”DePhillips,

Anthony DeVingo and Joe “Z”Zarro.

Antonio Caponigro, then Philly mob onsigliere, turned to his friend Frank Tieri because he was going to kill his boss Angelo Bruno and he wanted Tieri support him before the Commission; Tieri in the 60s had brought a
territorial dispute before the Commission regards the numbers racket in Newark but the Commission had reason to Caponigro.
Genovese and Gambino families knew that this could take the rackets in North Jersey and work in Atlantic City without the ok of philly. So Bruno died and later Caponigro died.

Antonio Rocco Caponigro April 18, 1980
Alfred Salerno, caponigro's cousin
September 17, 1980, John Simone was found dead.
On October 29, 1980, Frank Sindone was found dead.

John Joseph DiGilio Sr. also known as "Johnny Dee", May 27, 1988 Carlstadt, New Jersey

In 1988, DiGilio and three other Genovese mobsters were indicted on federal racketeering charges. Defying his family bosses, DiGilio refused to retain a lawyer and instead mounted his own defense at the trial. During the trial, while arguing with the prosecuting attorney, DiGilio suffered a heart attack, but quickly recovered.
While making his closing arguments, DiGilio dismissed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recordings of him as "locker room talk" and then dumped hundreds of cassette tapes into a garbage pail. On April 17, 1988,
DiGilio was acquitted of racketeering, but the other defendants were convicted.[3] The Genovese hierarchy was furious with DiGilio; they blamed him for the conviction of the other three men. What especially galled the leadership was that Donald Carson, one of the convicted defendants, was then forced to resign his position as secretary-treasurer of Local 1588. A Gambino crime family mobster replaced Carson at the local, effectively eliminating the Genovese family's major source of labor racketeering revenue.

10 july 1980 the masked gunmen Dominick “Dom”Cataldo and his nephews Nicholas and Joseph Cataldo jr (the sons of his brother Joseph Cataldo sr) shoot and kill Genovese member Gerard Papa.Gerald "Jerry" Pappa was a
partner with Peter Savino in a window replacement business.Pappa was allegedly order killed {according to Savino} for the murder of 2 Colombo families mobsters "Shorty" Spero and Richard Scarcella. Their bodies were
found in the foundation {floor} of Savino's business in Brooklyn. At Vincent Gigante's 1997 trial Savino testified that Pappa was ordered killed by Gigante because 1- the murder of the 2 men was not "authorized" and Pappa may have also been shaking down without permission drug dealers.

13 April 1986 Teamsterboss Frank DeCicco was blown up in his car in front of theclub of capo Failla, his friend the Lucchese soldier Frank Bellino aboss in the construction union got severely wounded. The ambush was done
at the orders of Gigante and Lucchese boss Gas Pipe Casso. the brothers
Vittorio and Robert Amuso watched while Genovese man and drugsdealer
Herbert Pate put the bomb under DeCicco’s car. Vittorio Amuso is the
underboss of Casso and they did it because they wanted to replace Gotti
and DeCicco by Gotti’s capo Jimmy Brown and his man Danny Marino.
DeCicco was now replaced by Joseph Armone.
boss Gotti, underboss Joseph Armone, consiglieri Joe N Gallo

Genovese murder Gambino associate Irwin "Fat man" Schiff
8 August 1987 was Gambino associate Irwin "Fat man" Schiff in upper East
side Manhattan in Sergio Bravo Ristorante shot to death at his desert by
Tony Rotolo (46) at the order of Louis "Bobby" Manna of the Genovese.
Bobby Manna and others were later convicted of plotting his murder.

Genovese murder Local 891 head Daniel Conlin
The Genovese family was linked to the 12 august 1987 murder of Daniel F
Conlin (65) the head of the New York City school Custodians Local 891
who was shot to death outside his home in Bay Ridge (Brooklyn) as he
left for work. Conlin’s involvement with Bobby Manna, Rocco Napoli
(business manager of LIUNA local 21 in Newark), Martin Casella,
“Hazzi”and “Joe”led to his murder. Conlin had been killed by the hired
men Carlo Delgado (19), Mark Hernandz (19), Juan Fontanez (20) and Tiro
Santos (18) who did it for the middleman Felix Soldana (27) whose car
they used and police tracked them and arrested them.

Genovese murder Felix Soldana
Felix Soldana (27) was found 21 august 1987 shot to death on a Chelsea Road in the Travis section of staten

island.

23 April 1988 Salvatore Sinno (61) shot and killed Louis Santos (52) in East Village

Adolfo Bruno died November 23, 2003

On November 17, 2008, Frank Roche pleaded guilty to the Bruno murder in federal court. Roche testified to a federal grand jury that Bruno's crew had paid him $10,000 to murder their boss. According to Roche, Genovese
leaders and Bruno's crew wanted to eliminate him because he was not earning enough money for the family. Several high-ranking mobsters in New York were also misled to believe that Bruno was a government informant.
Roche also informed law enforcement of plots to kill rival crime figures Joe "Big Joe" Manzi and convicted bookmaker Louie "the Shoe" Santos.

As of February 23, 2010, several small time criminals Fotios A. "Freddy" Geas, Anthony J. Arillotta, and Brandon D. Croteau have been charged with first degree murder in Bruno's death. Arillotta received permission
from high-ranking organized crime figures within the Genovese crime family to have Bruno killed. The investigation is ongoing.

Good list Furio. There were many more. One hit that as far as I know has never been discussed on here is the brutal killing of Georgie "Rush" Zappola, Genovese member, who had wounded Nicky "Cowboy" Mormando, a member of Gravano´s (Aurello´s) crew. He had also apparently wanted to kill Gravano. In 1982, Zappola was found on a Long Island beach...well what was left of him anyway...his head and one of his hands. The aouthorities managed to identify Zappola through dental charts and fingerprints.

IT was misinformation that connected Genovese to the Tresca slaying. Frank Garofalo of the Bonannos had Galante kill him.

Genovese also may not have been involved in the Vernotico killing. I know Joe Valachi said otherwise, but there's evidence that Vernotico was killer himself and that Valachi just assumed that Genovese did had it done. It turns out that Vernotico and Anna were already divorced when Vernotico was killed. Turns out that a guy named Antonio Lonzo was probably responsible.

Family Genovese isn't the less violent families, just that they prefer to kill when it suits them or to do a lot of money, as when they did believe Caponigro who had the ok of the Commission or when they killed Mickey Spillane and his best men because they don't want to give the money for the construction of the Jacobi center in Hells Kitchen.

I found the lists of the dead thanks to Puparo of Gangsters inc but I can't find a list of people wacked from 1990 to today, someone can give me a hand? thanks

1950s

4 October 1951 William Moretti (57) the most trusted lieutenant of Costello was shot to death by 3 killers under whom John Robilotto of the Anastasia family. His place was taken by Genovese's trustee Gerardo Catena.
New Jersey based Genovese trustee Gerardo Catena

19 June 1952 was Genovese's friend Steven Franse in Joseph Valachi's restaurant killed by Valachi, Pasquale "Pat" Pagano and Fiore Siano. Genovese had given the order because his wife had went her own way and Franse should have watched her. (Valachi testimoney)

Somebody (some say Luciano) found out that Giannini was a policeinformer and had Genovese know who ordered his capo Tony Bender to put out a contract, he gave it to Valachi. 20 September 1952 was Giannini (42) shot dead by Valachi's nephew Fiore Siano (FBN handbook page 635) and the brothers Joseph and Pasquale Pagano. (Valachi testimoney)

Steven Franse, Genovese had tasked Franse with supervising Anna Genovese while her husband was hiding in Italy. Outraged over Anna's love affairs and her lawsuit against him, Genovese blamed it all on Franse.
Following Genovese's orders, two hitmen brutally beat Franse and then slowly strangled him in 1953

October 25, 1957 Genovese and Gambino allegedly ordered Anastasia's murder. Genovese had heard rumors that Costello was conspiring with Anastasia to regain power

New York heroindealer Accardo partner Genovese soldier Vecchio dies
In december 1958 the undercover again contacted Joseph Vecchio (FBN
handbook page 327???) who brought him into contact with Edward "Eddie"
Lawton Smith, a few weeks later Genovese soldier Joseph Vecchio died in a
strange auto accident on the George Washington bridge.

Genovese ordered to whack:
Anthony Carfano in September 25, 1959

25 September 1959 Carfano who handled the Genovese businesses in Miami
gets invited by capo Tony Bender to a restaurant, Carfano takes with him
Janice Drake. When they leave the restaurant and step into Carfano's
car a killer let them drive to a lonely spot and executes them and
Anthony Mirra is a suspect, Mirra is the nephew of Al Walker Embarrato.
