Good find. I consider myself pretty plugged in to the Boston scene and if what they are alleging about Spucky being the acting boss is true, I'm quite surprised. I know he was real close to the Cheeseman so who knows. Maybe they have him out there to shield the real power?

I'm thinking it's process of elimination. He's been around for a very long time. I can't recall the last time he's been arrested. Maybe that's one of the reasons they went with him, low profile. But once you take that seat, this is bound to follow.

He was last arrested around 1990 and did about a 10 year stretch. 3-4 years ago, he had some heat on him and was saying that he expected to be pinched "any day" (which never happened). He has kept a low profile publicly but to the authorities, it looks like he was never off their radar. The reason it surprises me so much is because he's a little too "blue collar" to lead an organization IMO. Even after this report, I would still lean towards the theory that PL is the real power.

Little Frankie is spot on with what he said about Spucky, just not sure if PL is the man behind the curtain.

You would think this guy would be able to insulate him self a little more from something like this considering he's the boss.

$50,000 over a period of almost a decade. For a boss it does seem he came in at a shitty time.

Almost reminds me of Ligambi. I don't follow Philly too closely, but I've heard from some of the more knowledgeable Philly guys that he doesn't have much money (for a boss, anyway).

So If Spagnolo is the acting boss, the DiNunzio's are locked up, and the known Rhode Island captain Lato is in jail then there's gotta be 3 or 4 new captains in that family no?

New England are probably worse off then Philly, which is saying something. Spucky is an idiot for taking the top spot.

Sounds about right, It probably wouldn't be a stretch to assume the remaining Providence crew and Tony beaver Ascenzia's three or four guys in Connecticut would probably be one at this point

Not for nothing and I'm not trying to be a dick but all the pictures I've seen of mobsters lately they all dress like bums. They really don't make money like they used too. We're all just glorifying a bunch of bums.

Mainly because when they get arrested in there homes they're not dressed in nice suits, obviously..That's when 99 percent of the pictures are taken.

You see top guys worth millions dressing like that, they're hardly 'bums'

I think Yonkers has a point though.

Wiseguys used to be THE Italians with coin. Flashing wads, suits, nice cars. Getting your button was either a sign you were an earner, or would now earn.
Nowadays half the guys with stripes are Lefties cutting heads off parking metres.

Sure their are top guys making. But more aren't than are.

MORGAN: Why didn't you fight him at the park if you wanted to? I'm not goin' now, I'm eatin' my snack.
CHUCKIE: Morgan, Let's go.
MORGAN: I'm serious Chuckie, I ain't goin'.
WILL: So don't go.

They don't dress as well as they used to. It's not just the pictures in the perp walks either. I'm talking about every day life.

I hate that argument. When they show those fat asses coming out in their XXXL sweatpants with holes in them, that has nothing to do with it being 3 am. and throwing on the first thing they can find. Just the fact they own those raggedy clothes and have the balls to put on slides with socks says they already gave up on life a long time ago.

The original group of gangsters luciano, gambino, costello, etc were perhaps the exceptional people that you could class as criminal mastermind, however the people after them were basically just your regular career criminals who inherited the clout and the bureaucracy that was created before them.

Kudos. I know how hard it was for you to not make a Seinfeld reference here.

I know you've been a little down, Carm. Do you wanna borrow Golden Boy?
