What do you think happens with the DiMeo/Soprano family after the final episode? Considering that by the end of the series the whole upper structure is out of the picture including Tony himself who is either killed in the restaurant or sent to prison. I believe that Paulie became new boss and the family was absorbed by Lupertazzi family.

Even Carmella was frightened of the prospect of Paulie looking after the Family if something were to happen to Tony.

The family is in ruins, the top guys are all dead, Ralphie, Chris, Bobby, Silvio, Vito or have collaborated with the Feds, Eugene, Carlo, and Ray Curto.

Tony was already broke by the end of the series, and without any guys out on the street (maybe the Bareses), then he won't have enough cash to fight a lengthy trial.

That being said, we have Paulie as one of the higher ranking members and he finally would get what he wanted, respect with NY and "to bring good relations between the families". Unless Uncle Jun has miraculous recovery, Paulie is the Boss.

It's tough to speculate because we really don't know ALL the members of the family. I mean who the hell heard of Tony Uncle Al before season five? How much time did Feech have to serve for his parole violation? He had strong ties to New York and if Tony was hit by Butchie then Feech would be a good puppet boss. But who knows how many other cousins are out there quietly plying their trade in the shadows or in prison?

You still have Albert Barese, Pasquale Parisi, Paulie Gualtieri and other soldiers, like Ben Fazio, Little Paulie and the Walden fella'. They'll fill in the new positions.

Well who would decide who would become boss if Tony did indeed die? Had he ever named a succesor? Or would it automatically go to his underboss? whch was who? Silvio was out of commision. Would the capos vote or would New York have a say? Patsy might get a bump up in some way. Carlo and Larry too. Hesh should be brought in as advisor again. Paulie would be up there in some way lol.

Carlo becomes an FBI informant in the final episode and I believe that Larry is in prison or house arrest. So the new boss would be either Patsy, Paulie or Albert as they are the only capos left. Patsy is capo of Tony/Paulie/Christopher's crew, Paulie of Aprile crew and Albert of Barese crew, but we don't know who is the new capo of Altieri/Gervasi crew and the Curto crew.

Oh right right. sorry i forgot that about carlo plus wasn't there the chance he was helping NY? Albert is a good point too. They lost so many guys in such a short time it would be a hard rebuild

Here's how I think it goes down. The Gervasi crew gets absorbed by Albert Barese, who's still acting capo for Larry Barese. The Aprile crew gets absorbed by the Gualtieri crew. Little Paulie will be acting Capo with soldiers like Benny Fazio & Walden Belfiore. The Parisi crew, Bacclieri crew & Curto crew will be combined together to form the third crew. The skipper spot will be reserved to a soldier within that crew. Pasty Parisi is bumped up a notch to Acting Underboss & Hesh returns as advisor to Paulie, who becomes boss. Patsy & Paulie are great friends, so that administration could work. If Silvio survives, he'd remain as Consigliere with Hesh on the side.

The DiMeo/Soprano crime family will open the books eventually. People like bodyguard Dante Greco, Murmur Zancone (depending on how desperate the family is). And some other associates will get inducted due to their loyalty and commitment when the time called for it.

realistically Id say they either become the Jersey faction of The Luppertazi's or Larry would run the family through Albert with Patsy as consig........obviously Paulie would be next in line but he never seemed to have any interest in being boss........Id guess he stays underboss although I see him being miserable taking orders from "that fucking parakeet Albert"........

Assuming Tony wasn't killed in the diner, it's possible he continues to run the show from prison with Paulie as the Street Boss.
