His defense is that he was parked across from the crime scene and
the shooter was unknown to him and ran across the street and jumped into his car and then forced him to drive him away at gunpoint. Then Nicodemo claims he ran into his house out of fear.

Nicodemo's defense is so stupid I almost believe it.  It's a planned it and you are just going to run home right afterwards, leave the gun in the car and use your own vehicle for the job? I don't think the whole story is known. Something had to have went wrong in order for Nicodemo (am accomplished hittman himself) to panic and drive home. As a defense, I think the defense has to have something up it's sleeve. Nicodemo seems confident he'll get off. I'm guessing the "drove away at gunpoint" story is their hope of putting enough doubt into at least one jury's mind in order to not convict him. After all, they can't prove he was not carjacked, can they? From what I remember the prosecution has some evidence that contradicts the defense's claim, but it's not damning.

That's not been proven, he's rumoured to have been involved in one previous murder but we don't know if he's ever pulled the trigger.

If he has a shot at getting off and it would have to be a mile long shot lol then he has to basically go the OJ way and say no way I did it and the glove does not fit lol and hope someone buys it.

That hit still boggles the mind, why would you leave the car in front of your house with the murder weapon in it, why? Why? Why? "YES" Something is not right ,but with that defense i think it is what it is. But i keep saying > why ? why? why ? Through all my years i have never gone to any trial . Hes going to flip and basically destroy the Philadelphia mob. I hope they all enjoyed their large prison sentences and moderate earnings. Prison is in their future. Merlino should skate off to Venezuela while he has the opportunity. What from his past proves that he will become a rat? I'm not saying he won't, but he's toughed it out this long. This December will now be two years he's sat in prison awaiting trial without flipping yet. How many guys that have come up in the Merlino faction have become rats? Natale is the only one I can think of, and he was an associate during the Bruno days that Joey played like a sucker anyways. Only time will tell . You are 100% correct and I agree with you on that point. As with any mobster in this day and age, if convicted, there is a chance that he will flip. He's relatively young with kids and a beautiful wife at home I'm sure he'd like to see (not behind glass) again. I was just trying to point out that I think it would be wrong to assume that it is a slam dunk guarantee that he will flip.

No disrespect Serpiente but, why why why who cares.. the guy has no or military skill, probally never fought anyone fair.. its like hey nicdemo watch a james bond film, you might learn something... he was scared out of his mind probally under orders.. and with no thought him and some queer nitwit shoot out of the car in broad daylight... so scared could not think at least wait til freakin dark... they were BUMBLING FOOLS.. they were un professional punks.. By the way my man Longport is awesome area..And I am going to the crab trap this weekend.. have a good weekend.. Two hour wait on a regular summer night ,and no reservations.. But the bar out on the bay out back is a good spot to hang and wait... And one more thing if you are going for # 1 crabs be ready to pay, cos the crab season has not been this bad since 1977 as my seafood guy put it..(just a heads up )enjoy !

I used to get down to Margate every so often in the summer. I'd always say that Longport is to Margate what Wildwood Crest used to be to Wildwood. Nicer. Quieter. More mature. But that analogy doesn't hold up anymore. Because the last time I was in Wildwood it had really changed .

PB : Wildwood is just as you say changed is to put it nice. It's a shame, too. Back in the '70s and even into the '80s, Wildwood was great. Those old '50s style motels were the fucking coolest thing. Not anymore, though  .
