I got a e-mail just a few minutes ago.
The page said that this guy may finally pay for the crimes
that him and Scarpa sr. did all those years.

Many good and bad people are dead or in prison forever
because of Lin lying, and allowing Scarpa to kill.

There would quite a few guys walking around if Lin did feed
Scarpa all that FBI information.

I can only guess if true, will some of these men be released with millions of tax payers cash....

Amazing the FBI guys make good money,(and the OT would make most hard working guys years pay) and so do the police now days, and the tax payers paid then and will pay now (if true)

Joe Pistone is a big fan of him and a huge supporter. But then again he also supported Connoly in Boston too!

I hope they indict this guy. Dirty cops are every bit as low as wiseguys who rat. But I wouldn't hold my breath. The government has too much to lose.

So this is true ? cos it came from i guy that is a friend of a friend .

PB If true ,This guy is lower then low.
Like some sort of sick game.
The wiseguys get into it as a life , on some sort of a level field.
This would change that field..

Yep sounds just like your buddy over at the other spot eh? LOL

But I agree. Don't swear to uphold the law then turn around and play both sides while taking tax dollars and not to mention getting people clipped. I respect the rats more than I do these grease balls. Devecchio and Conolly deserve nothing but prison the rest of their lives. Lin parades around like he done something good for human kind.

i have my doubts that deVecchio will ever do time for his crimes - as far as i know he has total immunity granted for future trials related to scarpa.
And the entire FBI is behind him.
And the government is well aware of the fact, if devecchio goes away, probably dozens of cases would be opened again, this would be a major-slap in the face.
So in conclusion, i do not think we'll see a new indictment coming down for devecchio

That article just talks about Angela Clemente winning some legal rule where she would be provided with additional FBI documents and redacted documents. Nothing there about retrying or indicting him. I my missing something?

Just my 2 cents, but I don't think Devecchio was ever dirty. Based upon what I have read, the facts include:

1. Linda Shiro Scarpa lied through her teeth. Her testimony in court was proven to be a fabrication based upon tape recordings she made with Capeci when a book deal was being considered. In my opinion, she should have been charged with perjury.

2. The allegations against Devecchio were raised by a zealous, insubordinate agent who was on the Columbo task team who reported to Devecchio. This guy was later relocated out of NYC and every senior agent that has publicly commented on the allegations, claim this guy was trouble.

3. Devecchio has been supported by every single one of his superiors in the NYC office at the time. Kollstrum and others have consistently stated publicly the claims were not substantiated. These are honest cops, and if there was a shred of truth, they would have gone after Devecchio with the same vigor they went after LCN.

4. There is evidence the Columbos actually came up with the strategy to discredit Devecchio. Several of the cases against Columbo guys fell apart or were not prosecuted because of the allegations.

Draw you on conclusions after you have done the research. For me, the facts were very compelling that Devecchio was clean.

I don't know whether DeVecchio was dirty or not, but I agree with this a million percent. She came across as cheap and opportunistic, and I agree that she should have been charged with a crime.

I did not know she had anything to do with if he was lying or not.I was going by the article that was in a magazine.

The guys he worked with at the FBI were saying that he was guilty of this stuff. The guys name was like Farvo or something like that.
He was saying that they all knew that he was doing all kinds of things.

I would not believe Scarpa sr. woman she was sleeping with Linn
according to his coworkers. And of course they are also FBI so who knows .

But there is something wrong. And i am guessing it is about to come out.

Even if he was clean he supposedly done some things he shouldn't have been doing. Wasn't he accepting gifts from Scarpa that he didn't give directly to the FBI?

I have never read the book so I'm not expert on this by any stretch and still trying to learn.

At this time I just don't know that much about this. Witnesses are a bunch of dirtbags. I am willing to listen to the case and if he i s guilty ought to get a severe sentence since he would have been very much aware of the risk he was taking and the harm he would have been doing. I've read the book on him and there are a lot of questionable issues.

Christopher Favo is the zealous, insubordinate agent I was referring to, who initiated the charges against Devecchio. I think I know the article you read, which quotes Favo. I believe Favo got reprimanded for commenting on the situation while it was still being investigated (internally by the FBI) and was later transferred to a small office (South Bend, IN).

There is a chance that all this came from an over zealous coworker ?

Dam it sounds just like what Scarpa sr. was doing to the skippers and soldiers through Linn, in his family.

I don't know, but I think they supported him just because he was "one of them", no matter if dirty or not, and they didn't want to bring bad publicity to the FBI. I doubt they cared about "bringing to justice a dirty one".

It's like that quote from the TV series "Murder One 2":

Never rat on a fellow cop (FBI agent in this case).

Willie Marfeo to Henry Tameleo:

1) "You people want a loaf of bread and you throw the crumbs back. Well, fuck you. I ain't closing down."

2) "Get out of here, old man. Go tell Raymond to go shit in his hat. We're not giving you anything."

There is no doubt ole Lin was bad. Whether he believed it or not is a different story. Ask scarpa jr who's doin a thousand years for the sins of the father kallstrom and the boys had no choice but to back him or every Colombo on the Oren's side would be back on the street. Angela Clemente is very believable and we will never hear the whole truth cause it's pushed under the rug

Did anybody here see DeVecchio's 60 minute story? He admitted that he considered Scarpa a friend. Scarpa was a stone cold killer and you're an FBI Agent? He also said he knew that Scarpa had killed someone and Devecchio nothing about it. He didn't reportes to the cops or nothing he just kept working him as an informant. So I guess the Feds protected Scarpa at the cost of solving a homicide.

Lin D. was as much a rat criminal as any of the Colombos he was supposed to be watching instead of cheering for (or against)....but, as is the consensus here, I believe that there's just too much for the feds to lose, for the truth to ever come out.
