One of the all-time great television shows, and you couldn't get it on the air today.

And I'm glad you ended it in 1979, Oli. Because the show was never the same after the Stivics moved to La La Land. Not to mention Dingbat dying and that annoying little girl.

What I'm trying to say is, "Archie Bunker's Place" was awful.

Neither "All in the Family" nor "Sanford and Son" would ever see the light of day today.

And isn't that a shame? wink

Not to sidetrack the thread, but Fred G. Sanford did introduce champipple to the world.

Fred's most memorable line.

I'll be spending the next half hour getting iced tea out off the screen.

All in the Family and Saturday Night Light changed the TV landscape. Both were controversial and very entertaining.

I thought the best line from Sandford was when he told Aunt Esther, "You're so ugly, I could press your face into dough and make gorilla cookies!"

I agree on all those points, but you gotta admit, this was a pretty powerful scene:

"Growing up my dad was like 'You have a great last name, Galifianakis. Galifianakis...begins with a gal...and ends with a kiss...' I'm like that's great dad, can we get it changed to 'Galifianafuck' please?" -- Zach Galifianakis
