@AG,

Yeah, Freeman was Easy Reader.
Mr Bentley, the British character from the Jeffersons...was on either EC or SS, he used to paint numbers.
Glad you recognized the counting song. I'm gonna play the audio of that clip at parties and have people guess what it is.

Reasonable doubt, illmatic, and ready to die are probably the 3 best rap albums. Even tho big L and big pun were insane with the lyrics, they had the same problem as jadakiss. The producers they had couldn't match up to their talent with lyrics

Weren't they both from DITC? That would explain their similarities

Lord Finesse came out first....with the style.
AG from Showbiz and AG came out with similar style but slightly different.
Big L came out later with Finesse's style and pattern, just with younger person's references.
Just my opinion having been a fan of Lord Finesse's style and rap pattern.

Have to admit I've never listened much to Lord Finesse. When it comes to HipHop I have a lot of the basic more well-known classics on cd here: Notorious BIG, Tupac, NWA, Bone Thugs, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Fugees, NAS, GZA, Wu-Tang Clan, Big L, Scarface,...
Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle is probably the rap album I put on in my car the most. Too bad any other record of his after that was mediocre at best.

"It Hurts Me," by Elvis Presley. His best B-Side ever. Maybe THE best B-Side ever. You kids probably don't even know what a B-Side is. Not your fault, though.

Anyway, "It Hurts Me" was the B-Side to "Kissin' Cousins." A lousy song, and an even worse movie (If he wasn't already dead, "The Colonel" should be shot for those movie deals).

It wasn't until the '68 Comeback Special that the song got the recognition that it deserved. The original, linked below, was recorded in '64. It's also notable for being the last "non-movie" song that Elvis would record for almost three years. "The Colonel" was a piece of shit carnival barker, hence my earlier comment.

Pizza,

years ago I asked people what their favorite versions of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was.One guy said Elvis' version. I shrugged and then when I listened to it, I had to admit that it was one of the better interpretations of the song I'd ever heard.

I've posted that video here half-a-dozen times! Ask Tis and/or DE NIRO. They're both huge Elvis fans, too. They'll remember me posting it. It's the BEST version I've ever heard (or, in this case, seen).

Keep an open mind, Nicky. It was recorded in the summer of 1970 in Las Vegas. Paul Simon was at the show and was quoted as saying, "I give up. We should all just quit now." He was obviously going to a friendly extreme with the hyperbole because he adored Elvis. But when Elvis did covers, he made them his own.

The last stanza, beginning with "Sail on Silver Girl," will blow your mind.

Not going to lie, the Simon and Garfunkel version was the only I've listened to when I made that comment. But Elvis' version for sure competes with theirs.

Such a shame that Elvis died so young. He could still be touring today. Crazy to think.
