Any one remember 2007? The conventional wisdom was the 2008 race would be between Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton. Too bad nobody told Barrack Obama and John McCain that information.

Now once again the word is Hillary is inevitable, but I am not buying it. The Dems have amuch weaker bench than anyone thinks. On the left there is Elizabeth Warren, and there is no one who is more of a centrist that I can think of. IMHO Warren has no chance in the general. Given the cycle of presidential elections in this country, I think we always elect someone who is the opposite of the former president. G.W. Bush was the anti-Clinton, and Obama was the anti-Bush. The next president will be the "Anti-Obama."
For the GOP IMHO the person to watch is Rand Paul who has broken with the extreme right on a number of issues, and whose libertarian ideas are catching on with milenials and even some African Americans. Conceivably he could siphon off enough votes to win the whole enchilada.

I agree with everything in your post, DT. Especially this part. I've been saying for the past six years that Hillary will never be President. I'm convinced that she knows this. That's why I'm not even convinced that she's running.

And it's enough already anyway. She'll be almost 70 years old when 2016 rolls around, which is almost as old as Bob Dole was back in '96. And back then the Dems had a field day with the old man jokes. Well, what comes around goes around. The Internet was in its infancy back then. But today? No one wants to look at her tired old puss 24/7 in the age of social media.

Bottom line: The Clintons (and the Bushes, for you righties) have been around way too long with their tired old politics. I'm sick of them.

Does Jeb Bush have a chance?

There is a significant amount of fragmentation of the Republican party which may affect Republican election turnout. Keep in mind that of the last 6 Presidential elections, the Democrat candidate has won the popular vote 5 times.

Although Hillary Clinton is not guaranteed the nomination, no Democrat will be able to come close to her campaign funding. Warren has her share of populist support, but I don't think it will be enough to wrest the nomination from Hillary. By the way, Warren's 65 is just one year behind Clinton's 66.

You do understand what an extreme is, don't you? By very definition, one extreme can not exist without the other.

What's the difference between a pro-lifer on the far right who blows up an abortion clinic, or a tree-hugger on the far left who blows up a construction site?

Nothing, that's the difference. They're equally dangerous, and they're BOTH what's wrong with this country today.

Ditto PB, but I will say that the left in this country now refers to anyone right of center as extremist...if you are for self-responsibility, lower taxes, local control of education, etc...you are dangerous and a far right extremist!

Yes,those pro lifers are blowing up places all over the world. I just saw the video of my new grad daughters baptism. That priest was definatly a pro-lifer I wonder how many building he blew up when he is not asking people to renounce satin. When he said it I almost laughed out loud.

He also mention Christians are under attack today even more then in Roman times. We know that is bullshit. Moslems are not killing christens who happen to live in Moslem countries. We know that is a lie it has to be a lie our Government does not believe it. It just the right wing propaganda. smile

What does one have to do with the other?

I'm FOREVER going after the Muslim extremists on this site. And they're killing more Christians than Jews on any given day. But you're suggesting that there's no such thing as the far right, which is as absurd as SC letting Richie Animal slither back here with a new username. New name, same insane posts from a demented old troll. And you didn't answer my question. What's the difference between an eco-terrorist who blows up a construction site, and a pro-lifer who blows up an abortion clinic?

There is no fucking difference. They're both scumbag lowlifes. And for you to condemn one, while not even acknowledging the other, tells me everything I need to know about you. And don't fucking tell me what it takes to make a good Catholic or a good Christian. You've got twenty years on me (if you're really 75, and not some maladjusted teenager), and I've forgotten more about my faith than you'll ever know. I at least try to lead a Christian life. You, on the other hand, with your violent stories, and your hatred of the police, and every other psychotic thing you've ever posted . . . .

Every other one of your posts is a violent fantasy, or some repressed memory about an imaginary father who burned you with cigarettes and got hung off the fire escape. If any of that's true, it's awful. But tell it a shrink. No one wants to hear about it here. My point is, you go on and on about violence and how great it is to steal, and in the next breath you want to talk about how people on the right are decent. That you're a cop hater even further muddies your pathology: A demented cop hater who votes Republican. Gotcha.

I never said I lead a Christian life. Don't make me older then I am I am not 75 I am 74 smile but in my head I am 20.

What I meant that the left like to take a few incidents that happen years ago. Then try to make people believe it happens ever day.

What left wing stuff that does happens every day.

On that guy Richie Animal that people keep confusing me with I am getting to really dig that guy. Now I feel like I know him.

No your wrong he never burned me with cigs. He saved that for my mother.

Never said I was decent and never even said I was a Republican.

You say you are not a left wing democratic but you try to justify what they do it or it just seems that way

I am not even against abortion in some cases I wish Obama mother would have aborted him.

How can you actually attempt to deny that you are Richie Animal lol .

Here's a post by Richie Animal in the favourite beer thread - I spend a lot of time in Germany. I have an apartment in Berlin which I have so I can see my Grandson Henry more often and check out some soccer games I love that game.

Any way the Germans with money don't by German beer they buy chec beer. Also their German potatoe salad looks like our regular potatoe salad.

I can't drink beer. I am from Italian Harlem. When the government tried to stop tge heroin business there they through down all the tenements and replaced them with the projects. The Spanish moved into the Neighboorhood. They would drink beer in our hall ways then throw up and take a piss. So when I got home from school I would smell that crap. Now that smell is permeantly in my head anytime I smell beer so I can't drink it any more.

Here's one from footreads in the crap beer thread lol -

All beer is crap to me. Incidently the Rich Germans don't drink German beer they drink czech beer.

When I was a kid the Spanish started to invade italiam Harlem. They would drink beer in our hallways. Then they would piss and throw up.

So when I got home I would smell the beer, the piss and throw up. After that I can't drink a beer without having those smells in my head.

I will admit to being Richie Animal if you admit you know nothing about soccer. Except what team you support. The actual how to play the game you know nothing.

So admit to that first.

Oh, I see. Because I'm not all the way in with The Right, that makes me a Lefty. It's not enough that I'm forever admonishing Muslim extremists and telling the lazy welfare bilkers and system milkers to get a job. If I'm not willing to admit that there's a Far Right that makes me a Lefty. Gotcha.

I get the same crap from the Lefties who don't like it when I call them out on their crap, even though I'm in basic agreement with them on some other things. It's called being a political centrist, which in my opinion takes much more courage because it pisses everyone off. So I must be doing something right.

Nah, you wouldn't have liked him. Strangest guy in the history if this site. SC tossed him on general principle, just for being a shit stirring weirdo. But thank God he's gone.

I use that because it is true especially in my case.

It was from Chaplins final speech from the Great Dictator. You can find it on you tube it's worth hearing.

I don't know about Roman times but Christian minorities are being targeted, persecuted, and killed in Muslim countries, including in Iraq most recently. Read the CNN (which is hardly right-wing) article below.

Oh, and next time, maybe know what you're talking about before posting. Just a thought.

I sure hope you guys are right. I cannot stand Hillary. I think she is one of the most phoney of all politicians, and they are all phoney. I think Dr. Ben Carson might stand a chance. I have even heard that Romney might decide to run again.
