Five friends visiting their grandfather's house in the country are hunted and terrorized by a chain-saw wielding killer and his family of grave-robbing cannibals.

One of the great horror films filmed on a low budget and unknowns..

Great movie. It's interesting that there's actually no gore in it, but the film leaves you with the sense that it was full of it. Amazing use of psychological horror.

The ending is epic with him swinging the chain around in the final scene,,

I did see the first one, but not the others. For some reason I didn't get into the Chainsaw movies.

How many remakes of the first one are there and how many in the series?

I only liked the original from what i've seen. The chase scene in the 2003 remake was pretty good, but that was about it.

I think the only one I've seen is the 1974 (1st one). I know the others have been on tv and may have seen bits/pieces of them.

Thanks,

The legendary mobster Sonny Franzese financed this movie as well as the porn flick Deep Throat with profits going into the Colombo's coffer.

The first one is the best and the third one is good in my opinion. Texas Chainsaw was pretty good I thought.
