Have you guys heard about this guy who called Comcast simply to cancel is cable tv and the Rep would not let him go. lol The call goes on for about 8 minutes. I listened to the first 3 minutes or so. Man!!! What a freekin' nightmare. uhwhat

I gotta say, I've had experience with people (U-Verse, for one) who come to my door and won't take no for an answer. rolleyes I literally have to close the door while their still talking in order for them to understand I'm not interested.

Anyway, take a listen and share any similar experiences if you like.

That was funny! You have to give credit to the sales rep in trying to keep a canceling customer engaged. I am surprised he didn't change his mind with the $100 dollars less per month offer. I would have caved in!

Reminds me of Kramer's cable guy on "Seinfeld."

I had something of that same experience years ago when I canceled AOL.

Geez, AOL has been free for so long that I almost forgot.

A few cars back I was cancelling XM radio. The sales person kept knocking the price down. I kept telling him that I didn't listen to it very much. He got as far as giving me a few months free. I still said no. I wondered how far he would go.

I seldom used to answer the door (people who know me would just come on in), but then I adopted a full grown, noisy German Shepherd. He's a cream puff and the world's friend, but sales people don't know that, and most last less then 30 seconds in the face of his barking.

I am in the middle of cancelling my cable going to do it today. But not really using the threat to cancell to try and get them to charge me the same for cable, Internet and phone as they have been just under 200 a month.

I get crap from Verizon every day trying to get my business.

I like cablevision so I will not really cancell it. But I want to use the threat to cancell to keep the same charges and not have to pay the increase that they want now. What do they think I am a retired millionaire or something smile

My wife swears if we change our phone number or my email name and domain. That her friends will never call her or email her ever again? I married a crazy lady smile

The company thinks they are the only game in time. They offered be a 14 dollar rebate for only two months. Plus a dvr I don't se shit like that.Too complicated for me. I told them that is an insult not an offer.

I would have dumped them on the spot, but don't want to hear the wife bitch. Can't get her too see they are trying to take advantage of us old people smile

I have a house full of VCR's when I want to copy something. I have 14 of them. I switched to VCRs with commercial skip when they first came out.

So I have 7 that work and I don't use anymore.

Now I am starting to buy moves on amazon instant video that I don't have on prime or net flex.

The problem is neither have every movie.

Foot,

What cable service to you have?

I don't really have complaints about the quality of my service. The thing that pisses me off is, I get tired of Time Warner's nickle/diming me to death with fee increases. Yet, when I go to compare what I have and other companies, there isn't much of a price difference.

Another bitch I have with all these companies (not just cable)they make you jump thru hoops just to get to talk to a live person on the phone. rolleyes The down side of modern technology I guess.

I get phone calls all the time about getting a new supplier on my con Ed bills.

They say there from NYC on the phone Id, but their obviously from some other country. I got two call what sounded like the same guy in the same day. I curse at them, say all sorts of things about their mother. Told them to delete my number because I will take any provider that con Ed wants. By law I believe they have to choose the cheapest providers.

If I had the chance I would go after that guy.

----

I had everything. Then got rid of HBO because the sopranos ended. The star is dead so it is never comming back. I get some Spanish channels because of the soccer.

My wife likes the cooking channels. I like the property brothers and the cake boos and man against food for some reason smile

I would live to pick my cable shows ala carte, but they won't let me do that.

Me and my wife's first place when we married was an apartment so I got stuck with bundling Charter internet/tv/phone since the apartments banned satellite dishes. Worst experience of my life. I still have Charter internet here now at a different place, but thankfully I'm back on DirecTv. Charter phone and the supposedly HDTV was some of the worst crap I've ever seen.
