My grandfather's brother Joe actually knew Tony DeSimone. His names was Tommy but most people called him Tony, some sort of Italian pride thing or something

There is an interesting mug shot of a young henry hill in the beginning of the video. He was arrested in 1965 in jersey city nj. Anyone know what he got popped for in jersey city?
Also says gotti himself killed him( desimone). I always thought it was tommy agro.

Belmont, the more I study the history of Organized Crime, the less I know. Why? Because most of these guys don't do interviews or keep diaries. Hill maintained it was Gotti and that it was revenge for Billy Batts. Only those who were there know for sure.

Gotti wasnt a hitman. he was a murderer but only in the sense that he ordered murders. The only murder that he was directly involved with was the mcbratney murder but he wasnt the shooter ralph galione was. I still think tommy agro was the actual killer although gotti may have been present but i doubt it

In "Wiseguy," Henry Hill wrote that it was for the murder of Billy Batts and some guy named "Foxy." If you want to know more about Foxy, read "The Sinatra Club," a great book, or this:

Desimone was killed for the killings of William bentvena and mainly because of Ronald jerothe ( foxy ) who was very close to gotti , tommy agro allegedly took responsibility for the killing

Tommy Agro killed his brother too I think or at least he took the credit, I think he said if there were any more brothers he would have taken them out as well.

Yep can't feel to bad for him, he was a fucking whack job that would probably kill a kid if he was angry enough. He got exactly what he deserved.

Henry Hill & a few others from the Vario crew would go to Maryland, DC, North Carolina and bring back boatloads of cigarettes. There they could buy the cigarettes for say, a dollar a carton (just a number) and brng them to New York to sell for 5 dollars.

Gotti was a street thug associate for 2 decades before he was made and started giving orders. Nobody was keeping scores back then. Most of the murders back then went unsolved as there weren't as many rats. Don't forget the Plate favor he did for Dellacroce

Possibly. However the Plate murder was most likely committed by Willie boy Johnson and maybe Angelo Ruggiero, I doubt Gotti was involved other than ordering them to whack him. At that time(August 1979) Gotti was acting capo so I don't think he was getting his hands dirty

Henry Hill was a drunk and a liar. If you listen to his appearances on the Stern show over the years, he comes up with outrageous shit when he's wasted. I wouldn't take Henry's word for it, especially those years after he became famous and had really no new stories to tell.

So I've been curious about whether or not DeSimone actually shot a civilian dead in the street just to prove is ruthless reputation? As I recall from Henry Hill interviews DeSimone turned to Hill as they were walking down the street and said, "Hey Henry look at this." Then turned around the opposite direction, walked a few paces and shot a random man dead right on the sidewalk. Hill then replied, "Damn Tommy, that was cold." Desimone then quipped "Yea well I'm a mean cat." If this is true then why wouldn't they want whack him even sooner just for being a homicidal maniac? How can you trust a man like that?

He might've been cold(Tommy), but he wasn't retarded. I say no way.

This had to be the biggest crock I ever heard.

Dozens of witnesses, innocent victim... He would have been arrested within the hour.

His last appearance was pretty depressing. Wasted, looked generally unhealthy, slurring every word. I think that was the one where he was confronted by "Spider's" sister. it made for great radio, but pretty morbid at the same time.

Kind of wish Stern would get some other former mobsters on his show. Maybe one whose less of a hopeless drunk.

I remember in the early years he called in drunk and boasted about killing people personally. Then the next day he calls in sober asking Howard to explain on air that it was all bullshit because he was trying to get the custody of his children back. I remember the kids lived with a black family and they had fun goofing on Henry for that. When Howard asked him why he claimed he had killed people, his answer was "I'm a liar."
