I hear what your saying JJB but I doubt the owner was involved but if he had insurance that scenario would be much more likely , basically an insurance scam . Owner gives tip for a cut , thieves take the rest , owner then reimbursed 100% by insurance ( less his deductible ) .

The owner was responding to crime insurance and in that business , crime insurance may just be the most important insurance . It's possible the owner pissed someone off and the heist was made to teach him a lesson ( not paying extortion , late on gambling debt etc.) but I doubt it , he was probably just stupid .
