I recently saw Ron Goldman's Sister, Kim, on a talk show. 20 years later and she still broke my heart when she spoke about losing her brother and what her family had to endure throughout that sorry ass excuse of a trial. That poor family.

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

I once read a theory that the California/Mexican drug gangs were responsible for the murders. I don't remember the details, but it was frame job they did on OJ. Goldman was into the coke business and he owed big money. It was a very believable story.

So was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The only alternative theory that I ever gave a second thought to was the one about O.J.'s son having done it because he hated his stepmother. Then I sobered up and quickly accepted the fact that one of my teenage idols was a cold blooded murderer.

O.J. did it.

That's a perfect descriptor, Pizzaboy. I also found myself not wanting to believe that such an iconic gridiron legend could be a ruthless, savage killer. Back in the 80s and early 90s, OJ was nearly the equivalent to Michael Jordan in terms of commercials and TV presence.

In the end, 12 jurors were looking for a viable excuse not to convict this beloved athlete. Unfortunately for the victims' families, Mark Fuhrman provided enough of a justification for the jury to ignore plenty of evidence pointing toward OJ. This verdict, two years after the Rodney King verdict and subsequent riots, was a black eye on the American justice system.

This is often overlooked. The two cases.
Entire world saw the videotape and the officers were acquitted. The riots overshadowed the fact that jurors voted to acquit the officers.

Years later when the OJ verdict came down..I found some of the outrage to be disingenuous.

I saw a documentary on TV where this guy who was a serial killer claimed to have killed both Nicole and Ron Goldman.

But people who are sociopaths or psychopaths lie about all sorts of things including claiming they did things like kill other people they did not.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Brother_the_Serial_Killer

I was not convinced. Yes he did kill other people (probably not as many as 70+ as he claims) but there was no real solid proof he killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.

I was 11 or 12 when the verdict to the OJ Simpson trial was announced and I heard it on the radio that was on in my parents' car. We had eaten at an Italian restaurant, and were coming home. I was at the dentist that day as well.

I was 36 lol.

I remember I was up in Hartsdale at the time. I heard on the car radio that they were about to announce the verdict on television. So I pulled over into a shopping center on Central Avenue and walked into a little Italian restaurant with a small bar. I ordered a beer and watched in disbelief.

I was driving from Harrisburg to York for a deposition when the verdict was read live on the radio. I was stopped at a red light and as soon as the verdict was read, several cars started honking.

The prosecution gave the jury too many hooks on which to hang the cloak of reasonable doubt. Race, celebrity and the Rodney King verdict had the jury looking harder than usual for a basis to acquit.

I used to live in Buffalo and think we all idolized Simpson. He brought excitement to the Bills. He used to hang at a bar my wife's cousin owned. OJ fronted him money for this very popular place and I've met him several times, so initially I didn't want to believe he killed Nicole, but the evidence was indisputable. Tonight on Fox news Greta Van Susterin did a special on this case which was very convincing.

She owes her career, and her new (and not really improved) face, to that trial.

For the record, I didn't say I believed the story. I said it was believable. There is a difference. I actually believe that one of the cops did it.

My neighbor played for the NFL in the 60s and 70s and then did some TV and radio announcing for the league. He said that in a million years, he never would have bet that OJ did it.

We forget how brutal and physical a sport football is. Maybe OJ was a nice guy as long as he had that outlet for his anger.

She sure does, and she admitted it on that show. Shortly after the murder, I was shocked to get a phone call from her as an attorney representing a severely burned lady. I had been doing an investigation on it.I had been seeing her on TV so we chit chatted for a while and I found her to be very pleasant

Oh please. It shouldn't have mattered if Fuhrman got up on the stand dressed in KKK garb. There was a mountain of evidence proving Simpson guilty beyond all doubt. That jury wanted OJ to walk. Plain and simple.

And, like I said on the other forum, almost two decades later (to Treyvon Martin) and the black community still can't recognize a thug when they see one.

wasn't there something weird about fuhrman pleading the fifth when asked by the defence if he had ever manufactured or planted any evidence?
I'm sure the jury didn't get to hear it or something.

I believe OJ did it though. If you ever watch his interviews with ruby wax he just comes off like he doesn't give fuck.

there a bit towards the end where he talks about driving past the house and not feeling anything.

I remember that bum Kato Kaelin who was OJ's "house guest" which struck me as odd at the time; but I was 10, 11 or 12. I didn't yet realize that some adults just gravitate towards a celebrity or rich person in hopes of getting their money, or so they can just squat at their house rent free and not have to work.

This is an update about OJ's life in prison.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...ody-murder.html

Where there’s 'Smoke' there’s OJ. The 66-year-old disgraced gridiron great has hired himself a fellow felon - Willie Hartwell, aka Smoke - to protect him in prison.
OJ has been worried about attacks from aggressive inmates at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada, where he has been incarcerated since 2008. He fears there are prisoners who want to make a name for themselves by hurting 'The Juice,' especially on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the brutal murders of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman.
'He found the biggest guy who is in great shape and willing to fend off the bullies to help OJ out -- but, of course, it comes at a price,' a close friend revealed.

Smoke is only 44-years-old, he's 6' tall, weighs 180 pounds and his physical build is described as 'large' on the Nevada Criminal Identification Demographics records. And he's prepared to watch OJ's back for a few favors.
'Obviously, OJ can't give Smoke any cash money but since he still gets bucks from his books every month through his family and from his female fans, Smoke tells OJ what he wants from the commissary -- extra food, toiletries, stamps to send out letters, magazines - and OJ will get it for him!
'And OJ has also promised if he is paroled in 2017 and Smoke is still there he will continue to put money on his books until he is paroled and help him when he gets out, like if he needs a place to crash for a while.'

As reported exclusively by MailOnline last week, Fred Goldman, the father of Nicole's friend who was murdered with her on that hot June night, revealed OJ had been attacked several times.
Goldman says that he had heard a couple of rumors about Simpson, so he called the District Attorney's office in Nevada to find out if they were true or not.
The first was that OJ was beaten up in prison. He found out the former NFL star was hit hard in his chest by another inmate but it was nothing serious.
The second rumor was that 'someone in the prison found OJ attractive.' The DA told him the prison officials reported back 'We know nothing about THAT!' -- but their tone was very tongue-and-cheek. When Fred pressured the DA and asked 'what does that mean?' the DA responded; 'it means exactly what you think it means.'
Goldman said the DA gave him the impression that OJ had, indeed, been sexually attacked.

I hate to say it because I certainly wanted to see him convicted of the murders of Ron and Nicole, but he got an absurd sentence in that case. It almost reminds me of Lucky Luciano getting thirty years for what amounted to prostitution charges. It's scary that the courts can basically take that kind of revenge on a person.

I sometime watch the investigation discovery true crime TV channel. They will have cases where someone did murder someone, and they get off with a slap on the wrist. It's not just women, it's men as well.

They also cover cases in Canada. I think it's very odd how in Canada they give juvenile psychopaths or sociopaths who have killed people a slap on the wrist, put them into a juvenile detention center that's like a resort, and then once they are an adult they are released back into society with a totally new name and identification.

After the double murder trial, OJ should have never even jaywalked or returned library book late.
