What person would you love to see a biopic made of? It has to be somebody connected with the mob or some other sort of organized crime. I would love to see one on Lucky Luciano, I know they made one awhile ago, but I'm not sure that one was great or not.

Frank Costello, hands down.

Ready made title: The Prime Minister.

Do it right and it can't miss.

Once on Frank Costello would be incredible as well. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of updated, quality biographies on Costello or Luciano.

Yes, Costello would make a perfect biopic candidate because so little has been written about him (and nothing filmed). It could focus on his political finesse rather than the violence (and fiction about violence) that surrounds all the other Mob biopics. Could also cover his oddities--like his Jewish wife, his visits to a shrink, his apartment in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, etc.

Yes, for all of those reasons, TB smile.

There are one hour bio's of Mobsters on the Bio network. Today I watched bios of Joey Gallo, Tony Accardo, and Anastasia.

Some of the content of Gallo's bio, if accurate, seems to be the basis of some of GF I & II. Puzo's Godfather. For example, it stated that Profaci sent someone to try and garrote Larry Gallo in the Sahara Lounge and that it was interrupted by a policeman just like in II. I know that we've posted before about some of those kinds of those real life/film parallels, but I wonder of that one is true.

Carlos Marcello would be a great subject for a well done biopic.
His control of the Mafia in Louisiana was unchallenged for 30 years, and there are some great storylines in his career.

He allowed Frank Costello to bring in his slot machines after Frank became the target of LaGurdia's reform movement in New York City.

He was basically kidnapped by the Feds and deported to Guatemala,of all places.

He was a mutimillionaire from his legitimate business interests.

He was powerful enough to enforce a "no Mob guys in Louisiana" policy. No Mafiosi was allowed to visit, even for vacation or to go to Mardi Gras, unless he got explicit permission from Carlos.

Like Castellano and Gambino,he made sure that his descendents were established in legitimate enterprises.

Although he did go to prison a couple times, his power, influence, and income never suffered.

All in all,a pretty cool Mob story.

The first American family was based in New Orleans.

Carlo's main joint was the Town and Country out on 10 I believe.

I always heard he had JFK cracked for his brother Bobby deporting him as you mentioned. It was him, Santo in Florida and Sammy in Chicago. They hated the brother because he was fucking with the Teamsters as their pension fund was their source of unlimited funds. They say Las Vegas was built on the Teamster pension fund and again the brother kept fucking with Hoffa, etc al.

Or so the story goes, I have no idea whether its true or not.

Roy Demeo and crew. I know there is plenty out there to read and watch about these guys but I am still fascinated. Unfreakin' believable what these guys did.

Please, someone tell me how a guy is involved in a high speed chase in the afternoon, bullets flying then gets out of the car to finish off the poor kid, gets back into his own car, leaves the scene and does not catch a pinch? That kind of stuff only happens in movies.

If made right I think it would be a great movie but I can see it going all wrong at the same time and turn out terrible. Even if made wrong it would be better than that shit movie "Iceman" though.

While so little has been written or shown about Costello, there is even less out there about the life of Mr. Neil Dellacroce. There is basically NOTHING out there about him.

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

I would have to say Meyer Lansky and it would be called The Little Man.

Neil was quite an interesting character. I believe he started out overseeing gambling operations and soon became known as a sadistic, ruthless, highly efficient earner. He got hooked up with Anastasia, and after Gambino took over, agreed to be Carlo's Underboss. Although everyone expected Neil to kill Gambino and become Boss,he honored the arrangement, and later, did the same thing with Big Paul. In his personal code of honor, the Boss came first, above everything.
He was the classic old school Mob guy. Even if he aspired to be Boss,he would never participate in or sanction any type of plot against a superior.
Gotti knew this, and as long as Neil was alive,Paulie was safe.
I agree with your choice,Neil is a fascinating pick for a (well made) documentary.

Meyer Lansky and "Jimmy Blue Eyes" I would love to know more about them and how they ran all those casinos.

I hope when the Boardwalk Empire series is over they bring us into the 1940's or 50's 60's when Skinny D'Amato ran the 500 club. We would learn more about all what went on in the music and gambling industry in AC. There are so many interesting gangsters back in that era. Then you have Sinatra and all the singers from that time, the music would be fantastic.

There are so many mafia figures to choose from but if I could pic a few they would be Anthony Accardo, Santo Trafficante, Frank Costello, Carlos Marcello and Setefano Magaddino.

I'd kinda rather see a biopic of a crew rather than one guy.

If someone did a Gemini Crew movie, or a deeper Gotti Crew movie than the HBO one with Assante.

Even if they remade Murder Inc.

I would also like to see maybe a biopic series on the pre Castellammarese war clans across the country. Another I would like to see would be one on the Tampa bolita wars.

This has all been done to death. I don't think we'll ever see another feature film of any kind on this. Simply put, the audience who may have at one time made this hypothetical film is no longer a target demographic for movie goers. In reality, after Boardwalk Empire however historically inaccurate parts may have been, this alongs with Mobsters (1991) I feel was the nail in the coffin for films and shows with this content structure. Even after TNT did the "Mob City" mini series in Bugsy Siegel in LA, I feel that anything surrounding the Castellammarese War is that of history. They're still trying to figure out how to tell the stories that happened in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s in compelling ways. I think that with respect the stories of the 1900's. 1910's, early 1920's have been so poorly done to this point that all the facts are known, most have'n't been depicted memorably but that being said there have been countless attempts to do so.
