Were frankie loc and greg in the same crew at one time, both being bronx guys?
I know frank grew up near Arthur ave, what part od the bronx did Torre grow up in?

Greg was not originally a bronx guy, when did he come to westchester and where did he start out?
Pizzaboy probably has a lot of i sight on this i would think.

You asked a similar question when you first signed up and I answered it then.

http://www.gangsterbb.net/threads/ubbthr...true#Post765720

But I'll try it again smile.

Frankie and Greg weren't in the same crew. The Bronx had three Gambino crews back then. Leave it at that.

Like I said in the other thread. Greg was from Brookyln. He moved to Westchester when he and Terry got married. He never lived in the Bronx. He ended up working out of the Bronx because he lived in Scarsdale for most of his married life and the Bronx is a lot closer to Scarsdale than Brooklyn.

Frank LoCasio operated out of Morris Park. His brother Joe had a club near the zoo, so he was around Arthur Avenue quite a bit. And Tore didn't grow up in the Bronx. He grew up in Eastchester.

Thanks pizzaboy
What area of the bronx did Greg operate? Did he have a club in a certain section?
You know anything about that guy Vacarro that was in Greg's crew?

Greg never really had a social club in the Bronx, if that's what you're asking. But he eventually had the strip joint that he and Craig used as a headquarters. Prior to it being a strip joint, it was a restaurant that Greg used to operate out of. That place was on Boston Road by Conner Street.

That's basically the Mideast/Northeast Bronx if you really had to label it. That area's mostly Haitian and Jamaican now. But back then there was a lot of mob activity going on because you had a lot of body shops and scrap yards and such over there.

If not for that fat Cuban Fed and his silly book, no one ever would have heard of Vaccaro. That's all I'm going to say about that wink.

Funzi who? And where does funzi operate out if?
There is a part of the bronx called Eastchester, is that where Torre grew up? Or the town of East Chester?

No, Tore didn't grow up in the Eastchester section of the Bronx. He grew up in the Town of Eastchester, which is in between Bronxville and Scarsdale in Westchester County. Very suburban. Very well-to-do. I know it's confusing, but I guess if you're not from around here, it's even more confusing.

But FYI: No one really calls it the Eastchester section of the Bronx. Not if you're from here. That's like a Channel 12 traffic and weather term lol .

As for Funzi, i imagine he is with Zeke or was... Funzi was a bronx guy too i believe.
The bronx is very interesting pizzaboy because all you really hear about is brooklyn and staten island for gods sakes.
I was just at Roberto's around arthur ave.

And if I'm not mistaken, we haven't produced too many rats in the Bronx. Have we? wink

The Crescent Street location, I hope. The other two aren't the same.

Where are you from, Jersey?

Cheech that is what surprised me about driving up North. Here in the South we hardly ever have any tolls (except the Florida Turnpike and specialty bridges).

Hurricane Sandy was my very first trip up North and of course we had to drive it. We generally get to blow through toll booths as we generally have disaster declarations on us which gets us through for free, but on Sandy we didn't have any for the first week and had to pay the tolls and get reimbursed. I know on our way home we left Hempstead NY and took 95, I think I counted 4 or 5 toll booths between there and Delaware......lol

They flew us up to Boston before the blizzard in 2/13, I think there are 2 or 3 just between there and Worcester. Of course the interstates are kept up there too, they are like roller coasters here!!

Believe me, Tony. It wasn't a silly point of pride. You know me better than that smile .

And the truth is, there have been plenty of dry snitches and CIs from around here that you've never read about because they didn't have to testify. It's all relative wink.

Richie Fusco died last year, pmac. He was originally a Brooklyn guy, like Greg. And much like Greg, he ended up in Scarsdale. But from what I understand, Richie never sold his house in Brooklyn. Which makes sense, because Brooklyn's the Colombo power base.

Richie's the only Colombo guy that I recall ever getting anything going in the Bronx/Westchester area. Not that it was much anyway. He was the Colombo point man for the Westchester Premier Theatre, and much later he and Greg had a little thing going in a local restaurant. But it didn't last.

As far as Frank and Greg?? If they didn't, they were more than willing to wink.

Frankie loc was a lot bigger than most ppl realize I think. besides his son a lot of big Gambino guys now came up under him. he had a ton of shit going on in fla too. Vinny Artuso and his son split his crew after he got put away. Artuso had so much juice he became the family's point man in fla after jojo corozzo got convicted in the 90s. that spot went right back to Tory (franks son). Zeke and Funzi were heavy in the Bronx bc of gotti. much like Jackie nose.

They're both at Coleman now with my pal, Skin. Which is shocking because the Feds will usually split up a father and son in a case like theirs.

Johnny gets out next year, a full year before his father. He's going to stay in the real estate business. Guaranteed. And when Vinnie does comes home, he's going to have a lot of restrictions from what I understand. I hope he retires. I really do.

LoCascio is the spitting image of The Mad Trapper of Rat River.

Frankie Loc comes across as old school, even when sentence he went away to serve a life sentence without making waves

Always surprised me that a low key guy was in Gotti's administration

Sammy was very low key, as well. In theory it should have made for a good balance. Didn't work out that way, though.

The guy was really desperate to get out. He needs an oxygen tank around the clock, I think.

Don't feel sorry for him but it is perverse that guys like Phil Leonetti and Al D'Arco served about a month between them for about 30 or 40 murders yet this guy gets life for a conspiracy charge.
