Yes. Brad and Angelina's team of maids, servants and butlers will raise them and they will never want for anything - at least until they reach 16 and they no longer serve their purpose. It doesn't change the fact that they are accessories, paraded like a fur coat for the paparazzi.

It's just sad that the Brad and Angelinas of the world have to be their saviors. Because I have a hard time believing that they're attentive parents. No matter how many photo-ops they pose for.

They don't have to be attentive parents to make it better for these kids. Just the fact that the children will be living with three squares a day, plumbing with fresh water, access to medicine, a chance for education, etc., is enough for me to "bless" these adoptions.

Because for all of the horror stories you hear about Hollywood parenting, they still have to be better off than the tragic kids you see on a "Save the Children" infomercial.

There was a thread about Woody Allen and Mia Farrow and the Korean girl that she adopted.

I guess in earlier decades it was fashionable to adopt children from different developing/war torn countries. Anyway, in one of the articles linked in that thread....the writer literally deflected attention away from any SHADY actions and wrote "Soonyi was eating out of garbage cans" when Mia adopted her. Really callous condescending choice of words....but it's honest and describes the mindset into that fake celebrity world.
Plenty of AMERICAN children of ALL backgrounds who are in orphanages/foster care but fake celeb has to "RESCUE" a poor child from developing country who otherwise would starve....has to broadcast just how poor the child was..and has to pat himself/herself o the back for doing it.

if you feel the need to tell/show people that you have helped someone else...it's rather phony...person IS being helped but ,,,,


Anyway all these celebs an especially Madonna are all copying Josephine Baker was adopted a "rainbow" group of kids decades ago...and supported and raised those kids even as her fame and fortune dwindled.

Madonna, lowlife scum that she is, tweeted racial slur as some kind of publicity stunt recently ......even though she has adopted an African child.

I hasten to add that some of the same people who are posting 9/11 nonsense elsewhere are fueling this crap.

Dear God, this thread was about Alec Baldwin being an asshole only 24 hours ago, and now it has devolved into some kind of rant about Woody Allen, Madonna, and adoption of children from Asia and Africa by rich western celebs.

I understand and I GENERALLY feel the same way (about taking care of our own, first). However, there is a part of my heart that reaches out to kids in other countries. Kids that have it far worse than our own poor kids. Kids that will never have access to "simple" things like indoor plumbing and medicines. Yes, I realize there are some here in the USA who fit that category but it is far more prevalent in poorer countries.

THere is no easy answer to this one. You must follow your heart.

Sean Penn has exposed his own bigotry many times. I doubt the guy would last 5 minutes outside of California.

News media is very selective over how certain stories are covered.

Most people keep a running list of people in limelight who were caught using slurs...Alec is on the list along with Madonna, Eminem, Charlie Sheen,etc. You have to dig to find reports of these comments but that's more about powerful agents/studios protecting their interests.

It's an easier sell for the media to paint a white Southerner as a racist for using the same words, but people who are awake know that there is no difference. F all of them.
