From what my old friends in Buffalo tell me, the Sabres owner Pegula is a class act and has made improvements to the city itself.
Most Buffalonians hope that he wins the bidding war, Donald Trump has now said it is unlikely that he will win the bidding because he only buys at the "Right" price - meaning cheap. Bon Jovi now says he is committed to keeping them in Buffalo but no one believes him. He has way too many Toronto businessmen backing him. Also why move an American then to another country. This is nuts. It's all about the $$$$$. And on a side note, Andre Reed was inducted into the NFL Hall off Fame last night.

Bummer for the NY Giants. Running Back David Wilson is out of football. His neck injury is too severe. He was a promising talents; very fast. Set a record for all-purpose yards in a game. Had 327 return yards.

It's sad to see a premature end to a career, but I'm glad he's walking away due to the heightened risk of a spinal injury.

I heard his press conference today. He was trying to be upbeat and optimistic about his future in life, but he broke down a few times. Sounded like a very rooted fellow. I wish him the best.

I wonder if there were overtures on Toronto, if the Canadian government would fight to protect Canadian Football, considering Toronto is probably the flagship franchise of the CFL. This is not without precedence -- when the train wreck World Football League formed in the mid-1970s, they placed a franchise in Toronto (which poached three players from the Super Bowl Champion Miami Dolphins). The Canadian government stepped in, and threatened to ban any American football team from the country with the Canadian Football Act. It never passed, but it was enough to force the WFL franchise to Memphis.

Who else does Cleveland have as a QB? One things for sure, he's gonna be under a microscope.

A startling NFL statistic:

Only 28 of the 151 quarterbacks drafted from 2000 to 2010 went on to start for at least 2½ seasons. That an 81 percent failure rate.

Jimmy Garapolo... Patriots 3rd string QB will be a decent starting QB someday.

Manziel should start the season on the bench. Brian Hoyer, who was Brady's understudy in NE, is the starting QB. He played for 3 games last year before tearing his ACL. Hoyer has the smarts, but the big question is durability.

Manziel would be doing himself a favor to watch for at least half the season because instead of "wrecking this league," he might actually be "wrecking his confidence" from the beating he will surely take. Every defender will be trying to take Manziel out.

So true. Manziel probably has a bounty on his head. Hoyer might not be too bad. Time will tell.

Sounds like the Shane Falco story. Maybe Johnny Football will be scraping barnacles off of boats in a few years.

Just my opinion but, not really ready for Johnny Football to be the face of the NFL. I'm definitely not "hating" either. I'd love to see him do well. But who am I to judge?

That's too bad about David Wilson. Any promising picks for the Giants this season? I know Eli was worried about the new offense when training camp started but that may have changed at this point.

I don't think much of Tony Romo as a quarterback.

Miami Offense has been revamped buddy, if they stay healthy, I see playoffs for my boys after a ten year drought. FINS UP!!

I watched the Brown's game on NFL Network. I saw nothing to change my opinion of Manziel that he is a Tebow clone and destined for the same fate.

He's far from being a starter in the NFL. Maybe the Browns should consider developing Connor Shaw for the position. He certainly is more mature than Johnny.

Detective Brian Kohlhepp of the Ross Township, Pennsylvania Police Department confirmed to NFL Media that running backs Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were pulled over Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. ET. They, along with an unidentified female passenger in the backseat, were taken into custody and admitted to marijuana possession.

Disappointed in these two guys. The Steelers didn't have a ground game the past two years, but are looking forward to a top ten ground game this year with the addition of Blount and a healthy year 2 from Bell, who is a very promising back.

I suspect once the charge gets through court (very quickly, I suppose, as marijuana possession in PA is essentially less than a 3d degree misdemeanor) suspensions will be handed down.

And in the eyes of Goodell possessing some weed is far more offensive than beating a woman to unconsciousness and dragging her out of an elevator by her ankles.

Given last night's game performance, pending charges (or the marijuana) affected Bell much more adversely than Blount. However, just being around those two also affected Ben.

As we approach the start of the season, I'm going through my usual bipolar response to the Steelers preseason.

A friend and I have a side bet as to when the first Manziel sex tape surfaces.

I Just saw An article today saying Sam Bradford is out for the rest of the 2014 Season torn Acl. I guess hes lucky he was one of the last rookies to get da major bucks before they recently put a cap on how much rookies can get.. I thought I saw Bradford was Guerenttedd 50 Million or something hope he saved it.. I feel bad injuries might of finally ended his carrer I can imagine the Rams will go another way next year for sure.
