There have been some posts in previous threads about The Outfit and Rockford. Some guys from the EP crew are now free agents hanging out in Rockford? Maybe I read it wrong, but is there any additional info on that?

This is highly unlikely for the sheer fact that most people from Chicagoland (Chicago suburbs) would ever willingly relocate to, or conduct all of their business/social life, in Rockford. Regardless of any Outfit or non Outfit reason, Chicagoans would not shift their lives to Rockford.

It would make more sense to join 26th St. or Cicero than to join Rockford. Outside of Illinois, who really knows of Rockford anyway?

Joe Passucci never had a "crew" outside of Mary Daddono and his girlfriends. The guy was also an informant in the early 80s and that is exactly why no one in Chicago has given him the time of day in 30 + years.

That isn't how the Mafia works. If there's action to be had in Rockford (which there certainly is), then gangsters will flock to the light. It doesn't matter whether or not Rockford is a fashionable destination. If there's more action/profit to be had up that way than down in Chinatown/Cicero, then they will certainly head that way.

I was born in Brooklyn, raised in Upstate NY and now live in Cook County. My connection with Chicago is that I have immediate family who were Buffalo made and LIUNA connected on both sides, so my name and my Mothers maiden name carries recognician and respect just about everywhere, including Chicago and Rockford. So I know of which I speak.
As for Joe Pooch, he sure as the hell did have a crew and they kicked up to Melrose Park. As for he being an informent, I would be very careful before making an accusation like that. Joe Pooch was a small time bookmaker who mainly worked for Dominic Basso. It was the brother Mike who did the juice loans and bankrolled all of the operations. Both Pascucci's worked for the Ferriola Cicero crew, not Melrose Park. When that crew--guys like Infelise and DeLaurentis--went to trial, Joe Pooch was called as a witness since he was paying street tax. Other guys called to testify--guys like Chuckie Cesario and Tony Petranella--they all asserted their 5th amendment and did months in prison on contempt. Not Joe Pooch however and from what I hear, most walked away from the guy.

Joe Pooch was never made...far from it. If anyone would have been considered, it would have been his brother, but I don't even think he was. No one who worked for Joe Pooch was anything aside from a humble bookmaker. Most of those guys in what you call "crew" (what most would call small book) are in their 80s, just like Pooch.
