Double murder of Mafia members caught on camera - Italy

A former policeman, Domenico Mezzatesta, now a fugitive, and his son shot Francesco Iannazzo and Giovanni Vescio, two men tied to the calabrian mafia, ndrangheta, circles of Catanzaro. The ambush was caught on CCTV. The Police were able to reconstruct thanks to cameras inside the ' Bar of Reventino ' where the shooting took place. John Mezzatesta (the son) was arrested by the police a few hours after the crime. Domenico had evaded capture and is currently in hiding. The father, Domenico, sent local newspapers his side of the story, stating that "They asked me to pay 1,500 euro per month. I've lost my mind and I shot him ." A few months prior to the killing, a bomb exploded near the house of the murderer, whose daughter had been baptized by the boss Vincenzo Torcasio, said ' Porchetta ' killed in June 2011 as part of a feud that has bloodied Lamezia Terme.

The guy is an ex-cop, now he's a fugitive. He had his daughter baptized by a boss of 'ndrangheta. He's not just some innocent in all this who got tired of paying.

So just out of curiosity who is he and what did he do? Besides just air those two jerk offs? Lol

I don't know who he is, but a cop just doesn't do something he thinks is the right thing to do and then flee.
And more importantly, a civilian wouldn't ask a mafia boss to be Godfather to their baby.
I just say there's more to the history between them, there has to be.

Forget asking a mafia boss to be godfather, a mafia boss doesn't accept being godfather to the baby of a civilian, so there's no way he's just some random caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Except that in Italy, it's considered one of the biggest signs of disrespect to refuse the honor of being godfather, when asked. No matter who it is.

Did not know that... still can't imagine somebody that powerful would be concerned with disrespecting somebody he was extorting though.
