How would you list the books from the best down?
Heres my choice:

Book III (Young Vito)-my fav book!

Book I (Woltz/Sollozo)

Book VIII (bye bye Carlo,Barzini,Tessio..)

Book V (The great meeting)

Book IV (Sonny's hit)

Book VI (Appolonia)

Book VII (Las Vegas)

Book IX (Kay & Tom)

Book II (Fontaine)

Whats your choice?

1. Book I, Book VIII, and Book IX. Equally perfect!
2. Book VI Sicily
3. Book III Vito
4. Book V Dons
5. Book IV Sonny

Im wondering, why do you like book IX so much?
I dont know,it just feel unnatural to me that Tom is telling Kay all those things.Even for Tom.

Anyway,I hope you're only skipping the Fontaine chapter in book VII because the rest is pretty good! smile

I'll write it all, but later - no time now. And that will make another kilometer-length-post in my best style. blush But I promise I will!

Yes, I sometimes, not ALWAYS, skip Mancini and Fontane chapters. Even by the style of writing I perceive that they must have been written and added later, maybe, they are not so elaborate as the main story line, where you can't find one unnecessary word.
BTW, to make us more exact, what about a thread "rate chapters?" wink

I enjoyed so many different parts of each book, Book II, were Mario Puzo un-necessarily wrote pages and pages about Johnny Fontane was a definate shit for me.
