At the time the movie came out, it caused a lot of stereotyping of Italians by other ethnic groups. Funny thing though is that real life mobsters simply loved the stereotyping and the way that they were being portrayed from the release of the Godfather movie.

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

Frank Sinatra wasn't too pleased with it....

"Growing up my dad was like 'You have a great last name, Galifianakis. Galifianakis...begins with a gal...and ends with a kiss...' I'm like that's great dad, can we get it changed to 'Galifianafuck' please?" -- Zach Galifianakis

In school kids would always ask me{im sicilan}if i was in the mob or knew anyone that was Growing up when i met people there was always a look or gesture made just because of my nationality Now i know that came from GF {if only sen geery was there to speak up for me!}Also my family and friends always enjoy the movie {not as much as me}because of the sicilian dialouge and the old country scenes OH LONG LIVE THE FAMILY!!!!!!
