I was just reading some comments on bigtrial when I found this gem. Could it be our buddy Marine!?

Let me tell you all something ive lost family members friends to this life but guess what thats the life they chose so either they were killed or in jail. So before you make your comments about people and there family just stop and think thats the life they wanted to live so if they got killed or went to jail or your a person they tried to kill and you know your on here just keep selling cars in witness protection. You also wanted to be a gangster your own crue tried to kill u. I dont think your btother should have got killed but you killed him because you wanted to be a gangster. When they walk out in the next week or two dont be surprised. And for you other people that have no stake in this u can say what you want on here but wont say it on the streets. Use dont even know quarter of what really goes on. My family members that were killed hey they wanted that life im sure i stand next to the people that killed them everyday and i consider them friends........................... I think your just as bad as them and for the ppl that had nothing to do with tis so called Mob and was killed by Bor GAy Z I think he should FRY IN YOUR FYERLATOR ,,, YOUR STILL KISSING HES ASS WERE YOU THAT HARD UP TO BE A WISE GUY, CUZ U REALLY GOT THE SHIT END OF THE STICK, AND i WOULD SAY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSSES BUT SINCE YOU CHOSED THIS LIFE STYLE YOU DIDNT DESERVE TO SEE YOUR PARENTS LAY TO REST, SORRY HIPPO

Yes!!! Lol. Pretty sure UJ gets bail next week if they don't free him today. GB probably walks right out, but does he have to go to a halfway house like Merlino did after being released? Have a great weekend everyone !

Good question. He was due for release in 2011, so he spent his halfway house time in prison. His 3 years supervised release should be done in a couple of months.

Dude that bigtrial is embarrassing, George A is a good reporter but that is too low for him. He was at his best when him and schratweiser were doing Mob Talk it was very interesting,

Georgie has spent the last 2 years as a free man in jail - no way he is sent to a halfway house.

I could be wrong and someone help me out but doesn't Georgie get a payout for being held on these charges since he's not guilty?

Yes, I know. But I read Merlino was in a halfway house for 6 months and now he's about to get off supervised release.

I edited my early post, after rereading your question. Merlino spent 6 months after release in a halfway house, right? So since Borgesi was in prison during the time he should of been in a halfway house that would mean he doesn't have to serve that time.

Neither being in the mob nor being a made guy is a crime technically. While it hurts credibility and increases believability that one will commit crimes, getting your button does not make one a felon. Conspiring to or commission of a felony is what makes someone a felon

I haven't read Ligambi's retrial from 1997. Here's my best guess. Without solid proof, the Prosecution took the leap in assuming Joe was made at the time he whacked out Frankie Flowers. Bobby Simone, his attorney (and a very good one), possibly failed to attack that nuance. The retrial judge likely concluded that Joe being a made member of Cosa Nostra unduly influenced the jury to convict. As much as to release him of guilt for the crime at retrial 10 years later.

I think maybe because it was a state murder case and not a federal racketeering murder case that mentioning there mob connections made it detrimental to them getting a fair trial that's just my guess I really don't know I'm not a lawyer

Yes Frank Mazola your on the right track with your answer,it sounded to me like by the prosecutors saying they were ''made guys'' apparantley one would take that to be a made guy you had to whack somebody and I guess that's where the for a better word the unfairness came in.

I'd be pretty surprised if at this point the Judge doesn't set bail for Ligambi. And i think when the feds realize that the majority of the jurors wanted to acquit him they'll have serious doubts about bringing him to trial again. At least you would think so.

At some point the Feds have to let it go or try to build new evidence, it is not really constitutional at all to re-try a 3rd time (2nd was already pushing it). Isn't there any enforcement of the laws and rights of people in the criminal justice system/court system? Seriously bugs me they can do this to people, keep them in jail when they have already won 2 of the trials? really court/law enforcement bros/"n*ggers"?

3rd retrial is legal. But VERY uncommon.

But, ya never know!

No, just kidding. He'll be home within the week.
