Anyone hear about this new television series that will premiere on December 4th?

MOB CITY

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

It's supposed to be a real life drama about the LAPD/Mickey Cohen battles. It takes place during the time when Bugsy (Edward Burns) was also running things in LA.

It will try to adhere more to real life events compared to the fictional Gangster Squad. I'm looking forward to this series- it has the potential to be very good, despite being on TNT.

You shit-kicking, stinky, horse-manure-smelling motherfucker you! If you ever get out of line over there again, I'll smash your fucking head so hard you won't be able to get that cowboy hat on. You hear me? Fucking hick. -Nicky (Casino)

I watched the fist 2 hour episode. Not overly impressed with it but will stick with it.

Caught a mistake in the first hour of the show in the scene where one of the characters is quoting James Cagney from the movie White Heat saying ...."Top of da world"....

The scene in Mob City takes place in 1947.

The Cagney movie White Heat did not come out until 1949.

Maybe it's me, but stuff like that irks me. Tells me that the writers did not do their homework. If they can screw up something as simple as that, then who knows how factual they will be portraying real life events that took place during that era?

Watched the first 2 episodes-in-one premier and wasn't too impressed. Probably won't be tuning back in

I think it has potential, as long as they dont fall in to every single mob movie cliche out there. It was def way better than gangstersquad - one of the most shitty movies i ever saw!

I thought it was pretty good,my mother kept asking me a billion questions though. It's hard to watch mafia related tv shows with her. hopefully Bonnie and Clyde will be pretty good as well.

Good scene at that double murder where the hitter dressed as the waiter and blasted those guys with 2 guns.

Pretty sure it was based on a true case....a double murder back in 1933 at a restaurant in LA....as the 2 guys were eating their dinners they got shot to death. It was an OC hit and if i remember correctly the 2 guys that got killed were from out of town and stepped on the wrong guys toes when they were in LA.

I watched it last night on-demand and wasn't remotely impressed. The main reason being, I'm not buying Ed Burns as Benny Siegel. He should stick to writing and starring in B movies about Irish American firemen from Long Island. Because if he wasn't an actor, that's pretty much what he is. But to be fair, when he plays those parts he's pretty believable.

Yea I agree the casting could have been better, but there is generally nothing else on, on Wednesday nights so I watch it to kill time.

To me, this show just couldn't keep my interest like other Mob related movies and television shows. The storyline's I felt like were all over the place. And this is supposed to be about the LA OC's battle with the LAPD, yet the main storyline throughout the whole show was between that fucking cop, Shane from the Walking Dead, and that broad who took the pictures of Bugsy killing that guy. The Sid Rothman character I liked, I like the guy who plays Mickey Cohen and the other fictional gangster, the one who was in the war and friends with Shane from the Walking Dead. I agree with whoever said the casting of Bugsy sucked, and the guy they brought in to play Meyer Lanksy in the last episode. And I just HATED how they had the cop be the one who murdered Bugsy, all over that fucking broad again. Completely contradicted history and it just wasn't necessary.

This will most likely be picked up for more episodes, and they're going to continue rewriting history with the whole "It wasn't us who killed Bugsy, Mickey. Find out who done it" shit.

If it is even vaguely related to the Walking Dead (Director/Writer Frank Darabont and actor Jon Bernthal), the show is going to be all over the place and feature intensely mediocre/boring characters.

Should probably ask Mr. Kierney. I guess if you're Italian, you should be in prison.
I've read the RICO Act, and I can tell you it's more appropriate...
for some of those guys over in Washington than it is for me or any of my fellas here
