That's the bottom line. It just goes to show how much things have changed when the sons of an imprisoned boss are dealing ounces of weed.

Vinny Basciano is doing life in prison and he's getting his children involved in narcotics deals...Add father of the year to his glowing resume..Some people might believe that buy a toaster for somebody makes up for his sleaziness, but this is disgusting !!

Whats an easy racket though?

Also i dont think it necessarily works like that where its like "aww ya old man is orite, heres a criminal activity for you to do."

Also from the brothers arrest back in may im guessing they have been doing this for a year or so. So probably made some decent money, they got caught, but its all in the game yo.

That's the bottom line. It just goes to show how much things have changed when the sons of an imprisoned boss are dealing ounces of weed.

The thing is PB is that these boys more than anyone on this planet know that the life is really a thing that brings nothing but misery.Their dad was a big time gangster so they grew up in the life they wernt some kids from the suburbs that watched the godfather and the sopranos and thought that thats how being a gangster really is.Even 10 years ago when this family was on top of the world i bet Vinny b and his family were always scared either someone would whack him or his best friend would oneday snitch to the FBI.

Vinny B was really young when he went away for life.Mid 40s is extremely young. Its not like when the commission trial in the 80s all those guys other than Carmine persico were over the age of 65.Vinny g could end up spending half his life in jail depending on how old he dies.

Your right about "That's the bottom line. It just goes to show how much things have changed when the sons of an imprisoned boss are dealing ounces of weed".

AS bad as a boss people said that john gotti was, he left his children very well off.Same as the chin or the entire gambino family or castellano family.I understand Vinny was never an official boss and he wasn't acting boss for long but he was a kilo man so that in itself should of been enough to leave a very big nest egg to his family. He also had legit buissness and he had rackets.I just wonder maybe he did leave them alot of money but these boys might have been spending it on Clubs, women, gambling and cars so then they had to start this weed business because they ran out of money

Chin and gotti were bosses of families 5 times as rich, we're capos in the hey day
Vinny was acting for 11 months
Also 3 million in lawyer fees and 5.9 million in forfeiture will hurt 2

Chin and gotti were fined a fraction of vinny, 250k

Does anyone feel like there have been more LCN busts in NY/ NJ in 2012 and 2013? It almost feels like a bust a month these days . Wonder if anyone has facts to support or disprove if busts seem more frequent today.

With the economy coming back I do see alot more people gambling today than 3-4 years ago.

I think they've actually slowed down a little bit since the massive bust back in January 2011. But it's still a relatively steady round of indictments, like it has been over the past decade.

The Barney you are talking about is not the Barney who was involved in drugs. There are 2 of them with the same name. One is 2 years older. That's the one I think you meant. They are often mistaken for eachother. The older cousin was busted in the late 80's. It's online. You can check the indictment.

It's being said more than once on quite a few threads. More recent too than 2 years ago.
