I'm almost finished the novel, but I had to bring this one up (and apologies if it was posted before, I usually search, but I'm having a lazy moment.) p. 402 "During that year Kay Adams Corleone was delivered of a second child, another boy." (odd grammar). What happened to Mary? Just a FFC interjection? Why the change of sex?

Yeah, but there's a lot of things diffrent about the book and the movie. For example,Jules wasnt even in the movie.

thats because its got no point to the whole story to have him in there.

It always irritates me too in GF3 that Lucy Mancini had given birth to Vincent. In the book she was most definately not pregnant. ohwell

Good point. I don't reallt know why they would make her have Vincent after all the "surgery" that she has to go through and if she did end up being pregnant from the book, it would be from Dr. Jules

The Novell says that Kay had already given birth to the 2nd son, who was also the 2nd child. So Mary is made up by FFC, just like the abortion in GF2.

And the abortion was quite impossible, because in the book she became a fanatical catolic!

I brought this exact scenerio up in an old post submitting the theory that if Lucy wound up with Dr. Jules in the book, then there was a good chance that Vincent was NOT Sonny's boy in GFIII. But in reality, Dr. Jules character was never introduced in the movie, and Vincent, like many other characters in GFIII was created solely for the plot of GFIII. Check out my original post and the replies.

I'm assuming that Mario Puzo agreed to these changes for film's sake. He did work with Francis Ford Coppola on re-writing a lot of it to fit the screen so I guess they saw fit to make changes like these... it all worked out well enough IMO. I can live without seeing people like Dr. Jules onscreen...
