Wow.

D'Elia's a rat.

(That should answer your question)

MORGAN: Why didn't you fight him at the park if you wanted to? I'm not goin' now, I'm eatin' my snack.
CHUCKIE: Morgan, Let's go.
MORGAN: I'm serious Chuckie, I ain't goin'.
WILL: So don't go.

But its a gray area, he just talked about his business dealings with one guy and the guy didnt even get in trouble for it, they just made him hand his gaming license over to his daighter, no big deal, and the other guy d'elia just said he saw him with a gun, and both guys are not in the mafia

Its a dark area the family may be over is it anything or any people left to have power over.

From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn.

Technically he is still a Boss, but is probably shelved like Bonanno was back in the day. I wonder who has taken over the Bufalino rackets. It was never a large family to begin with, similar to Rochester and Pittsburgh. My guess is Philly or one of the 5 Families.

Incredibly, the Crime Commission Report states that, "It has been decided by the LCN Commission that the Bufalino Family will not be permitted to accept new members, nor will the Commission allow the Bufalino Family to appoint a new boss." This could be the reason why D’Elia was talked about in terms such as "alleged leader."

I would think that although Philly may have some influence and mutually beneficial scams going on with whatever's left of the Scranton rackets, Philly may be a bit more focused on things going on in the 215. The Bufalino family was always heavily involved in the coal and garment industries in/around Scranton, W-B, Pittston, Hazleton, etc...but the union infiltration and labor racketeering that went hand-in-hand with these businesses is pretty much history, or at least severely limited. As far as the non-traditional means of LCN income, much of the $$$ is now in waste management. D'Elia was heavily involved in this area...Big Billy did a lot of biz with NYC in general and the Genovese in particular, and I would imagine that the Genovese family would have the most influence in NE PA today.

still hold power? when did this guy really ever hold any substancial power to begin with? there were a few cases with him involved in some scams and other things here and there, but thats about it. the guy was in charge of a one man family, how much sway could he really have, and don't give me that shit about him being some big time go-between that was so influential that he was able to mediate and settle ny disputes, that just reeks of overblown media hype.

as far as ny or philly taking over the rackets, heh! assuming that there were still rackets to be taken over, putting aside the fact that the region has become very economically depressed with the loss of its industry, who moves in? how do they do it? what rackets do they get involved in? we have seen this logic before with pittsburg. how the hell would a ny or philly guy just stroll into a town where they have no meaningful criminal connections and just set up shop? maybe put up billboards advertising their illegal gambling joints? maybe put out business cards with free samples of heroin or coke with a phone # if you like it?

ny and nj are different because of the sheer amount of wiseguys floating around. as a connected guy, i would imagine it would be pretty easy to get in contact with guys in different areas that might be able to help start something, thus taking advantage of the mobs web of influence. simply put, these connections are not nearly as extensive as they once were, and they most certainly don't extend to northeast pa like they used to.

A March 1986 raid on DiBernardo's office seized alleged "child pornography and financial records." As "a result of the Postal Inspectors seizures [a federal prosecutor] is attempting to indict DiBernardo on child pornography violations" according to an FBI memo dated May 20, 1986.
