Any college football fans on here? I know most of you that I've read on the Real OC forum seems to be from the NE or Chicago.

Here in the South you must choose when you are born no matter if you can talk or not....LOL. In the Hilton we stayed at in Providence to work the snowstorm they had a Shula's Restaurant downstairs with a bar so I decided to check it out our last night in town to just "hang out" with locals and see how different we really are. I didn't see much difference other than people near Boston like the Red Sox and the Bruins like we do Alabama football here. Everything else seemed the same other than accents and the locals said a few more cuss words but that doesn't bother me of course. I also noticed the Hilton would shut down their parking just to park people for the Dunkin Donuts Center that was next door to watch the Providence Bruins I think it was. Maybe next time if National Grid calls me back to Providence I will try to check out a hockey game in person wink

I don't know, Mary Cas. The NCAA seems to do just fine having no shortage of current criminals as well wink

Go Buckeyes!

Actually my team is Villanova Wildcats. They do play in the division with a legitimate playoff system; 16 teams. 'Nova is the pre-season pick to win their league; CAA Colonial Athletic Assoc. The Wildcats won the National Championship in 2009.

They are my team because my daughter graduated from there in 2001; classmate of Brian Westbrook former Philadelphia Eagle running back. She tutored him in English class. cool

That's cool MC. I once met the cousin of Dorsey Levens (a friend of a friend) and couldn't get over it.

Johnny Football is in a tougher bind than he might realize. If he accepted money for autographing merchandising and thinks he and the broker can hide the transaction sufficiently from the NCAA enough to deny the accusations, he might avoid a suspension.

But if there were indeed a money transaction, he can be assured that the IRS will be able to uncover it, and there the consequences will be more severe.

The best advice for him is to be completely honest and forthcoming with the investigation, but since winning the Heisman, it seems everything this guy has done has been wrong.

Yea he is definitely no angel, but at that age I was 10x worse I'm sure.

But if that video surfaces that ESPN claims they seen this could get VERY interesting. Honestly I hope he plays because we want REVENGE!

I knew when I seen your username on the other board you had to be from Cajun country. I agree if y'all could get rid of Mettenberger and recruit a good QB y'all would be tougher than you already are! I think this year the winner of the Bama/LSU game takes the West as usual.

What part of LA you in?

It should be the winner out of either of us that plays for the marbles again, I think A&M with Manziel even if he plays, won't be much of a factor. I'm from South of Lafayette WAY down in Cajun country.

I agree I don't see A&M doing much of anything now that SEC defenses know what is coming. I expect Johnny Hangover to have a ton of turnovers this year...

I came through there last year working Isaac. We started in Alexandria then came through Lafayette to Slidell then ended up in downtown NOLA. I always love coming to Louisiana.

I have a friend that works for CLECO in New Iberia I think it is.

Lane Kiffin is fired as USC head coach. The team gave up 62 points last night. I won a bet from a friend, who said Mack Brown would be fired before him.

Yea Kiffin has always been a joke.

Was good to see Bama shutout a good offense and hear the critics shut up.

Was still surprised UGA beat LSU though.

I didn't realize Alabama had critics.

For years, Georgia has been one of those teams that is always in contention for the title. Yet they inevitably lose a game or two and can't quite get over the hump. They won a wild one on Saturday, but they have some defensive holes.

It's going to be tough for any team to beat Alabama, but it is also very difficult to win for three straight seasons.

You better believe it. All I've heard since the VT game was that Alabama was terribly down this year compared to most year. That was amplified after the A&M game because Manziel owned us for the 2nd straight year and has been the only player since Cam Newton to do so. You'd think we were 0-4 with the way some people are talking about us.

They must be some disgruntled locals, who like to rain on everyone's parade. I think that Alabama doesn't have a weakness and is clearly above the rest of college football. I think below them is a group that includes Georgia, Oregon, LSU and Clemson and maybe Ohio State and one or two others.

Alabama may drop a game before the year is over, but it won't be because the team is better.

Well that is how it goes in the SEC sadly. Just because one team has our number everybody goes nuts.

I still don't think the best team won in Georgia this past weekend either. I still think LSU is better than them. People will overlook LSU for sure now and they'll pay.

Well, it may not be for the national championship, but it's still Notre Dame, and I'll be taking my sons to the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium to see the Irish play Rutgers. I bought tickets for a bus package. My brother-in-law is catering the buses, so I know there'll be a lot to eat.

So how many of us picked Florida State v. Auburn for the BCS Championship game? I'm sure the TV people would have wanted 'Bama v. Buckeyes.

I knew halfway through the season FSU would be there, the ACC is HORRIBLE this year.

As for Auburn well nobody but themselves (and 99.9% of them said 8-9 wins and they would be very happy this year).
