In September 2007 BBC2 in the uk showed the documentary The Real Godfather about the Cosa Nostra boss Bernardo Provenzano, who was before his arrest in 2006 on the run for over 40 years. The documentary itself was brilliant, and ever since i have regretted not recording it. I read the Last Godfather book about the 3 Cosa Nostra bosses from Corleone (Leggio, Riina& Provenzano) in the last 6 months and have since been trying to find this online and even recently contacted the BBC with no reply.

Does anyone have a copy of this, or know where i can find the whole 50 minute documentary?

Didn't this used to be up on Youtube? If this is the one I'm thinking of, it was indeed quite entertaining. Would love to see it again or get a copy myself.

Hey Iceman, thanks for your reply. I am sure it was on youtube at some point, i looked on there recently (i will check again) and i think it has about 2-3 mins of the documentary. I had a reply from the BBC and unfortunantely they can not provide me with a copy either.

Have you read the Last Godfather book? It details the wait on the hill (which this doc shows footage of)looking at the farmhouse where Provenzano was living and how they saw his hand in receiving his laundry. Fascinating stuff!!

I'm pretty sure the entire doc was once up on Youtube with English subs.

No, I have not read that book, but I shall certainly try to get around to it when I can.

Haven't seen the BBC doc, but there has been a FANTASTIC Italian-made mini-series showing here called 'il capo dei capi', shown here as 'Corleone'with english subtitles. It's available on you-tube in it's original Italian, or with French subtitles^^, but i'm sure a quick google should get a result. I can't tell you how good this series is, the best i've ever seen, the acting and characters are absolutely nailed-on.

Two-thirds of the way through Corleone and am really enjoying this so far. Thought they could have done without the good cop sub plot though. Still, this is turning out to be more enjoyable then I thought it was going to be.
