I'm new here so maybe this has been discussed before, but from all I've read John Gotti had Favara killed mainly because he failed to come apologize, and show proper respect for the death of Gotti's son. I've read that Favara was warned to not go anywhere near the Gotti family whether he wanted to or not. Had he gone immediately to Gotti to apologize and discuss it in a respectful way, what do you think Gotti would have done ????

I read Gotti's wife went after Favara with a bat. Both the wife and daughter Victoria wanted revenge. Victoria said she taunted her father telling him "i thought you were a tough guy" after Gotti supposedly said it was an accident. No idea if it's true but thats what i read.

Yeah, there is a pretty complete thread about Favara. But poor guy, he got a pretty raw deal for an accident. No matter what he did, he didn't stand a chance...

Gotti himself was originally willing to let it go (he accepted it was an accident)
Gotti's wife and daughter werent so forgiving.
Gooti knew how to murder and get away with it - perhaps he was afraid that if he didnt act the women in his life would try and do it themselves and end up getting busted?

I dont think thats necessarily true. I think Gotti had every intention of killing Favara. When it originally happened the cops knew that gotti would do something so they warned favara and even waited to see if gotti would do soemthing. Gotti was a moron but he was smart enough to realize that he had to wait until he could get a soldi alibi and the heat wore off. he waited 5 months and made a trip to florida and thats when favara was abducted from work
