I can't seem to find out much about this guy. In the government's secret file on the mafia, he is mentioned as deceased associate of some of the guys profiled. In Charlie Carr's New York Police FIles on the Mafia, and on the Valachi hearings chart he is listed as a button in the Profaci Family, and some of his "gang" including his brother-in-law Charles Lacascia are mentioned. Newspaper articles about his murder claim he was heroin dealing associate of Lucky Luciano and Vito Genovese, and was killed because he was slated to testify against Genovese just days after his murder. He apparently operated in the Wilson Ave are of Bushwick Brooklyn, which to my knowledge would have been Bonanno Family territory. I don't see how he could have been a made guy in the Profaci Family more closely associated with the top echelon of the Genovese Family, and operating within traditional Bonanno territory. Is it possible that the government made him out to be a much bigger deal than he actually was?

HereĀ“s some stuff on Robino:

- Supposedly came to the US in 1949 from Italy. But married in Windsor, Canada in 1938. His bestman at the wedding was John Ormento, a Lucchese captain and a huge heroin trafficker.
- Lived on Long Island after arriving in NY.
- Immediately after arriving to the US, engaged in narcotic trafficking and apparently supplied Frank Cucchiara of Boston with heroin.
- Yes, he was listed as a Profaci button on those "Valachi charts" but considering that some of the names were misplaced, and the fact that there is not much info on Robino, perhaps his listing was wrong?

I believe this is the murder scene of Robino.

Thanks Hairy. I did not know that Big John was the bestman at his wedding, that info combined with his other associations lead me to believe he was listed under the wrong family, he seems to have been involved with everyone but the Profaci's. Apparently he came to the states for the sole purpose of establishing a heroin distribution network, but wasn't the type that could handle the heat that junk can bring upon oneself.
