Go DR!!! They have a monster team. Ive won about $600 on a few small bets on the team.

Cant believe the Cubans got knocked out and the Italians (who suck) are still in along with the Puerto Ricans (who are lucky).

I'm still enjoying the classic, but it was pretty rough watching the USA struggle offensively. We still produce the most talent, but American players are less inclined to take part in this event than their international counterparts. I could think of a dozen healthy American pitchers, who could have towered over the present staff, but I do give a lot of credit to all those, who actually have participated in the Classic.

I hear you on enjoying the classic and kinda cool we aint towering over everyone..the rest of the world caught up and it is a world game everyone can play now..I also hear you on haveing different players ,Rollins had a good average but i watch him here every nite and he is a HACKER...And that umpireing was also a little rough too and looked to be in our favor at times..Right now japan and prico are startingup..Annd i pic Japan ..just think they have better staff but prico can hit a little better..

Well, the DR ran the table, which was the first time this has happened in the short history of the Classic. Now all of the participants can focus on the Big Show.

Yea D.republic ran away with it and are the strongest countries when it comes to baseball talent..But with many other countries not that far behind..This was so cool,an it didnt take long, and not that many games..They should do this more often like every two years or so..And the rule where a starter cant go more than 65 pitches is kinda nice..plus it is only march..I Dont think the mets or tigers would be happy about loseing a pitcher either..

Marine, how about this format. It's played over two weeks in lieu of an All Star game, the fans from the home countries get to vote along with the managers. Players will be in mid season form, the guys who don't play will get the time off!

There is no way that MLB would allow a two week midseason break in the prime revenue generating months of regular season play. Keep in mind that all of the MLB players, who participated in the classic, did so only because they were graciously permitted to play by MLB. Their contracts, which are far more valuable than anything the Classic offers, limit their play to their respective MLB teams.

The Classic is only an exhibition. It's a fun spectacle to watch over a few games in the preseason, but what really matters is the MLB campaign.

I understand all of that. I'm talking perfect world scenario. I just think its horse shit that most other countries players are either in season or play winter ball where most Team USA memebers have had only a few weeks of Spring Traininto be prepared. Just think the timing and format are bullshit. Also pitch counts? So if a guy has a no hitter they still pull him at 65? The whe thing is a joke if the continue to run it like it is. If its not a joke why are the rosters not the best players?

It's almost as bad as the All Star game determine home field advantage for the playoffs. That's another horse shit decision. Most guys get pulled after 3 innings. So that should determine who gets the advantage when it counts?

I agree with you, especially designating home field advantage in the world series. I was disappointed by the large number of players from the US, who declined to participate for whatever reason. We had a pretty good team representing us, but it could have been stronger, especially in pitching.

Yes timeing was too early, our players had thier focus on thier contract teams..And our guys were on offseason break. And half of our guys are in winter..And the latin american teams have nice weather..Best played after the world series is over.. play them in Miami dallas or La or something..our guys will be in form maybe tired..But guys are less likley to get hurt..And I agree there were a large number of guys that never even played for us in this classic..
