Who could have Coppopla cast as Luca Brasi besides Mr. Montana ?
What actor could have played Luca like he was from the book ? Anthony Quinn ?

Rocco today you make your bones

I thought the character cast was perfect for it. I wouldn't want to change him. Do you mean if Lenny Montana wasn't available?

Of that was the case I honestly can't think of anyone else to play the part.

Vito, funny that you mention Anthony Quinn as when I read the book years ago I always told myself that Anthony Quinn could have played that part also.

Don Cardi

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

Anthony Quinn made an indistinguishable performance as Aniello Dellacroche in the HBO film "Gotti". He played him so well, too bad the character (and real life person) die in 1985, thus giving John the biggest part. I find the actor who played Gravano a bit weak though, but the message got through. Most of the capis and soldiers in the film ended up on the Sopranos. Also the actor who played Angelo Ruggerio did a good job.

When the movie was made, he wouldn't have worked out then, but if I could pick someone from now, I would say "Big Pussy" from The Sopranos. I can't think of the man's name. I wouldn't replace Lenny Montana with him, but if he wasn't available for whatever reason, I think pussy would do a good job.

Well, I woke up this mornin', and I got myself a beer. The future's uncertain but the end is always near....

If it were done today, Michael Madsen about 50lbs heavier would be perfect...

Agree with you 100% on "Gotti," Joey. Also, I can't top Jasani's suggestion about Michael Madsen. Tom Sizemore could make a decent Luca, too.

I think this guy here (Bruce McGill) would do a good job...I saw a scene when he flew in rage in a movie that I can't remember....

For those of you who may want to go for a closer look ===>
