Came across this article in a newspaper from 1915. A chopped up body was found wrapped up and disposed of in a marsh near Coney Island (modern Bay 50th street). The article says that the body parts were wrapped in Italian-language newspapers.

That area was being filled in at the time, so it would seem like the perfect dumping ground for some old Mustache Pete.

Gruesome way to go. The article was followed up some weeks later, naming the victim. The name slips my mind though but later it was said that the victim was part of the war between Camorra groups in Brooklyn.

I agree. Nice find!

Nice! What does that area look like today? Still marshy or city?

Yeah I think Coney Island creek has a lot of bones at the bottom of it too.
