accardo hung around the top of the syndicate for over 40 years (underboss, front boss, advisor, triumvirate). giancana on the other hand only was at the top for roughly 10-12 years, got booted from his spot, then got murdered when he came back into town.

This topic can, and probably will, go on forever. For anyone interested in the Outfit, I would recommend reading Gus Russo or John Binder's book .You can also find hundreds of articles on the Internet. Just google either name (Accardo or Giancana ) and start reading. After reading (it does take some time) you will begin to form a mental picture or each man. And after reading some more, the information will start becoming redundant. Hopefully by this time you will have come to some obvious conclusions, based on research, about who did what relative to The Outfit.

You are right. I actually have become bored with books on the Outfit because they are all redundant for me at this point. I'm reading DeMaris' Captive City now and it's very good but going at a snail's pace because, at this point, same ol, same ol.
