Apologies if something similar has been posted before - i had a look and couldn't find anything.

I was just wondering how many, if any, of the actors in the sopranos were connected to the real life mafia? I heard Tony Sirico was a low-level associate of the Colombos or something? Is he the only one? thanks!

I don't know anyone except from Sirico with connections to the mob but the guy who played Matthew Beviliqua and C from Bronx tale was jailed for 10 years here's the story .

Real life connections can be formed more easily than we think. Word of us taking matters into our own hands can go a long way if we do it in the right place. The act itself of beating up a guy who's being a thorn in our side is in its own way, forming a connection with the Mafia by extension, since it is one of the methods they use.

The Sopranos is based on Anthony Casso when he was part of the Lucchesse family and the New Jersey Crew he had. Real life associations ? None what so ever, that is all hollywood, that is why the show ended with no final scene.

the fbi gave their opinion to the family that resembled the soprano the most. the jersey lucchese r clearly the most similar. they even went on to give real life similarities. silvio was tommy ricciardi. tony was tacetta. read more
