Do you understand how tiring it must be to be a mob boss? I mean I can only imagine the years it puts on you. The stress, they worry that you are being watched by the feds. Having to make sure not only yourself but your guys keep a low profile and don't do anything that draws attention.

There are many other factors also that would drive you nuts.

Your thoughts?

I know the rewards are wonderful. But man the headaches that come with the job. Talk about overwhelming. Laying with your woman in your house making love and knowing there is a chance that the Feds kick your door down. Would you want that life?

How about celebrating Thanksgiving with your family and getting a knock on your door with a search warrant?

Of course though its not like you would not get a warning from someone on the inside telling you when the feds were coming.

Well if you're ok with being a capo, boss is the next step. Just more people to manage and more FBI scrutiny. On the other hand you get more respect (never doubt a man's ego) and more money.

You gotta understand that these guys luv their job,the adrenalin rush, the violence, chasin cash and power above all,so no headaches for these guys except jail time, but in some cases jail is even better for some guys, like training in the army....and when some1 in the family is a mobster(like the father or son and in some cases the mother)usualy the whole family pretend that they dont know shit so most of em are prepared for all kinds of situations

It's power methinks. Chin didn't live a glamourous life when hè was boss, neither did the Calabrian bosses who where plucked out of a hole in the ground somewhere. I am generalizing of course, but I believe the aspects of control and power are very important to people with such personalities.

I think most Mob bosses in both America and Especially all around Italy know that their lives are sustained by incredible wealth that only you and I could dream of. A lot of these Bosses have the world by the balls but obviously nothing can be totally luxurious in life without some cons in the background. for the bosses, it's knowing they could end up in jail for life, go on the run or whacked. Besides to be honest, they all know this and accept it, as that is their way of life, it's not just all about money, their is a way of life element in there somewhere.

Tony Soprano : I thought I told you to back off Beansie!

Richie Aprile : I did, Then I put it in drive..

Ligambi was never a Capo, he got out of jail after his murder-conviction was overturned in 1997 as a soldier (he was made in 86 at age 47). Joey was arrested in 1999 and then Ligambi was chosen as Acting Boss and remained as such from recent wiretaps and fbi statements until this day.

Tommy Shots: They want me running the family, don't they know I have a young wife?
Sal Vitale: (laughs) Tommy, jump in, the water's fine.
