We all know that Tony got out of control with the drugs, killed his best friend, and screwed Sosa, which all together cost him his life. But who do you really think was at fault for Tony's eventual demise? Any thoughts?

I say Tony. As Denzel Washington said in Training Day "You made a decision. Live with your decision." Tony did it to himself, although I know that finding out Gina married Manny while he was high probably wasn't the best thing either.

Himself, obviously. I mean, he broke the rules (i.e. he became a chazzer and got high from his own supply). But he also showed that he had some semblance of a heart by not letting "Alberto" kill that guy's wife and kids. So.. he wasn't cut out for the business.

All that is said above is true. While there is absolutely no doubt that Montana was to blame for all that occured, due to both arrogance and the drugs, Manolo was the one who lit the fuse for Montana's rapid demise. Manolo was the one who pushed Tony to meet this Cidelbaum character and put the meet together. We know that Cidelbaum turned out to be an undecover cop. This Cidelbaum deal put together by Manolo put Tony into the situation that caused him to have no choice but to do what the cartel needed him to do in order for Tony to beat the charges against him. I do believe that even if this did not happen with Cidelbaum, eventually Tony would still have self destructed, but not as quickly and in the manner that it occured. Manolo was careless in his connecting up with Cidelbaum and in my opinion was more worked up for Tony to meet this guy because for once it would be Manolo who made a big contribution to thier business. Manolo's judgement was definatley clouded by his excitement of wanting to be the one to put this deal together and it ignited the fall of Montana's empire.

I don't think it was entirely his own fault, his mother did not care about him, his father ran away and he was possibly living under torture by Castro.

If we look at what happened to him before the start of the movie(growing age), what made the man he was, it comes down to the fault of mother, father and dictatorship.

Well we know that Tony's Mama didn't care for Tony in the movie b/c what he had grown up to be. However I would argue about blaming her for Tony's upbrining. I definately would fault his father for running away & Castro.

Castro all the way. If he hadn't dumped Tony and some poor schmuck's boat, this never would have happened.
