ESPN

"Stern met with the media after the Board of Governors held their annual summer meeting, and said the league is looking to add possibly $100 million in revenue by permitting small advertising patches on uniforms starting in the 2013-14 season. The patch that would be on the players' uniforms would also appear on the jerseys at retail,' said deputy commissioner Adam Silver, who is handling the uniform change."

This is absolutely disgusting in my opinion. Yet another reason I barely watch the NBA. David Stern has ruined this league! NBA uniforms are going to look like NASCAR uniforms. When's it going to stop? I knew it was only going to be a matter of time but I was hoping I would be wrong.

I have to agree with Irishman, this is indeed a stupid (if lucrative) decision.

Yeah $100 million pumped into the NBA, and the owners still plead poverty at the next CBA/labor fight.
