I gave this thread the title i did cos i reckon we may be the only 2 board blokey's interested in cricket? I know our US pals will have little interest in it tongue

Nicky, Brett Lee retired? A fine cricketer who i always enjoyed watching.

Also Australia are still number 1 in ODI's?? They have been awful in the recent series against England

yes Yogi! Who knows there are a few other poms around and some Aussies. Sad news for Brett, really good guy, actually met him in a Perth night club once. Also very sad for Mark Boucher retired from a lacerated eye ball-ouch! No England are the team to beat, but lets not get carried away, we got destroyed by Pakistan in the winter. SA will be a great test, the top 2 test teams by far!

Last test shaping up nicely, come on England, we don't need that egomaniac Pieterson to do the job.......

Well and truly beaten mate. The South Africans were just to big and strong. A bit worrying that the team that has done so well for us over the last few years just starting to show a few cracks. Strauss getting a bit old, Pieterson being a tit, Broad,Swann and Anderson all having poor series......

My view is we became a little over hyped after the ashes successes, which if you look at it was us beating a poor Australian team twice. I think generally our bowling is really good, Anderson, broad and Finn can gel well, Swann is a decent spinner but vastly overrated in my opinion. On the batting front we still have that good old English tendency to collapse, but hey Yogi it could be worse it could be the 90s! Remember those dark days?! haha.

Watched England beat India in a 20/20 yesterday. We chased down 178, which is impressive. Eoin Morgan is sensational in this format, shame he can't bring it to the Test arena!

Enjoying a bit of the 20/20 Big Bash lately mate. Great stuff.

Aussies got a few good pacemen coming up. I like the look of that Starc fella. Does this mean that Doug the Rug won't be playing in the Ashes?? lol

Nah mate he's no where near the team! Starc is good, Aussies are better but we should still win at least in the UK

Yes i have been watching them against India in the Tests and they look poor. If Clarke doesn't get runs then i don't know who will? Bowling looks pretty average as well. They have been trying a load of new young bowlers over the winter like Starc and Cutting, where are they now?

Watching the Indian batsmen absolutely knock the stuffing out of Australia here mate. These 3 spinners for Oz have to be the worst 3 i have ever seen. Lyon,Doherty and Smith!!!!!

The Indian commentators blethering on about how great they are on their own pitches especially against spin. Weren't that good 3 months ago when England beat them with Monty and Swanny in full flow smile

Have not seen you around in a bit Nicky but I was wondering if you saw any of the first Ashes Test? What a game, it had everything. One of the best games I have ever seen. Long may it continue cool

Crickets are big down here in South Jersey, but I have a bunch of toads in my yard that eat them up.

You are a silly toad tongue

Cricket is the quintessential English game, played by gentlemen who quaff down cups of tea and eat cream teas and cucumber sandwiches.

Actually when I was in England back in 2000, I watched Cricket on the Telly and rather enjoyed it. Back here in the states, I worked at an office complex with many Tech companies. Across the street were recreation fields. There was a large India/Asian contingent that played Cricket on their lunch break. It looked like fun.

Yes MC, we also have a large Indian/Pakistani population here and they are mad about cricket. It looks tricky but is actually a tremendous game. It will come as no surprise to many that I was actually a fine cricketer as a youth rolleyes
