Since the big bust last year all the top guys aside from Mikey Lance, Johnny Chang and Steve Mazzone were taken off the street and still no word on who's running things aside from the 3 mentioned above. Who took over the remaining spots now that Ligambi and many Capo's are off the street till this trial is over?

Haven't heard of any up and comers either. What happened to Micali and all the young guys from the Borgata bust? Most of them were in their 20's and still are. Also,Back in the day (I lived in South Philly over 50 years) there were many social clubs too, Are there any now with possible activity involved aside from the 10th and O gangs club?

Obviously we can only guess right now. Rumor on the forums is that Mazzone is currently acting boss. With Johnny Chang also helping run things. Mikey Lance would still be running his crew. Maybe Nicky O for the North Jersey crew. Who knows in regards to Staino's crew.

I remember having fun at the St. Nicholas of Tolentini feast in South Philly in '09. I saw few social clubs in the area. One was almost in the markets, just one mid-sized room with the Italian and US flags on the wall. Another one a little further south, looked older, and had something written in gold on the main door's window.

As far as Italian Social Clubs per capita...nobody beats the North End.

South Philly as far as the Italian areas where social clubs could exist has shrunk over the past few years. Almost anywhere east of Broad past Snyder is all Mexican and Asians with a few old timers and the never younger suburban kids who have flooded the area around East Passyunk ave. West of Broad still has the strong Italian communtiy from Snyder all the way down to Packer Park but really the area that could have social club activity particuly in the Girard Estate area (Shunk,Porter, Ritner, Wolf and Jackson)

South Philly
Hi everyone. Longtime reader, first time poster. There are many social clubs still in South Philly. They are just spread all over the place. I will list several. And by no means are these all mob connected. Some are just places that neighborhood guys hang. The Messina Club around 10th and Morris. Cafe Italia around Broad and Snyder. The Little Louie Club right off 20th and Wolf. There is one in the lower half of 9th street around 9th and Federal. The Broadway is still open on 13th and Porter. This one has been linked to the mob numerous times. Along with the bar next door that is now called Quarto. Use to Cholly Bears (gaeton Lucibello's place). There is a no name one just south of 9th and Morris. Big Italain flag in the window. Alot of young guys hang at one just off Marconi park at 13th and Bigler. There are alot more. Hope this helps
