And Portugal is going to the semi-finals!! It's really exciting. Here in Toronto all the Portuguese fans are going crazy! While many may disagree with me, I think Portugal is starting to look like a major threat here! Ronaldo is heating up at the right time!

I agree with you Mr Soprano!!!! Portugal are starting to look very good indeed and if Ronaldo sparks then they can win it no doubt!!!

However England are going to beat them in the final 6-0!!! lol lol

I liked the look of the portugal player on the wing yesterday didn't catch his name but he made quite a few good runs and was good with his feet.

Stuck £100 on Portugal and was beginning to worry until Ronaldo scored lol.

Now that the Czech of been done away with, and with Germany no doubt walking away from Greece as winners, i think the Semi-finals are looking like some thrillers!

The Portugal/Cech game was a joke. The Czech players looked like they were running in quick sand, they could have played the match for two days and I don't think they would have scored. That last corner they had was abysmal. I was pulling for Greece today, and thought they had some hope when they tied it up, but Germany was too skilled.

Have a feeling France will beat Spain tonight. Spain just doesn't seem hungry enough. The French have been fighting among themselves, but that's nothing new. In 2006, they were practically killing each other, and still reached the final.

Guess I was wrong whistle. Cost me some money too. Oh well still enjoying the tournament.

There is always hope Nicky. Nobody gave England or Italy a good change before the tournament...it can go either way.

For what it's worth, I'm rooting for England!

England can win tonight, of course we can!! It is a proper 50/50 game. Italy of course are a great side but they are not as good as in recent years and England are pleasantly surprising with our spirit and defensive graft!! Gerrard playing well, Rooney coming into form!!

Here we go cool

Italy were by far better team. Diamatti is quite a good player. was expecting cassano to go off for Di Natale actually

Enjoyed this match very much, looking forward to the semi-finales! Sorry for the England fans...but Italy deserved it in the end.

England are just not good enough, when you give Ukraine of all teams 55% of the possession then you no something is not right. Why have 23 players if you just make the same substitutions, Henderson of all people..

I watched the last ten minutes of extra time, and then saw England go up 2-1 in the shoot out. When I got back to the TV, I saw Italy celebrating. It was exciting, but it appeared to my untrained eye that in extra time Italy kept putting the pressure on England and England couldn't quite get an opportunity to score at all. Was that indicative of the entire match?

I also only saw the last ten minutes of extra time, and the shoot outs. Italy was indeed the better team. The real question is: Why does England always seem to buckle during the shoot outs? I can think of two occassions in the last ten years where they've lost to Portugal in shoot outs during Euro/World cups. With all their talents over the years, you'd think they'd be better equipped.

hell yes. both England and France were a joke in this tournament and England looks like it's about to go into a rough time. which young english player is going to be the one to lead their next generation? Premier League is so good, there's no space to develop young, struggling players in english teams. that has happened with Spain and Italy too. also you can't have Andy Carroll as one of your primary offensive weapons and expect to get away with it.

now, France was just lame. Benzema was always a mile away from the opponent's goal and their offensive line just exchanged passes in front of the area without ever actually trying to score - that when they faced inferior teams; yesterday they just watched Spain play.

on the good side, fuckin' Ronaldo was a monster in the q/f and Germany is the best international team I have seen in years.

Italy deserved to win ...but another penalty shoot out exit!!!! frown

Hope Italy go on to win it now, and as for England's future we will just have to wait and see. Hodgson seems to have got them united in a short time but we need new blood in there desperately and can't really see it coming from anywhere!!!

Premiership might be the most exciting league in the world but we are over full of foreign players!
