Mac Dre was targeted b/c the 3rd party that set the KC show up didn't get paid. He actually died from the car accident and not the bullets. The 3rd party/promoter was the manager of Fat Tone, who is from a Crip gang based on 51st. Fat Tone was kind of a punk kid to the "OGs" and got ran off, but worked under Moody when the youngsters took over. Nowadays, 51st, 12th, and Hilltop Crips have formed a youthful, yet powerful alliance called 5ace2. Their major name just got killed in KCK/no fly zone for 816 guys, a few months ago. South of 60s is an older and now more traditional set of Crip/Blood gangs, that work together these days due to being only a few old guys left. Most old guys are just focused on the money and not the gangbanging. The Bay Area has always had a presence here, due to music & family ties. Rapper E-40 has family here. Bay guys on tour have been known to bring a lot of sh*t in on tour buses. Ecstasy is very abundant from KC to STJoe to STL.

jimmy the henchman rosemond was kinda doing the same thing with his label.
I think even Suge knight probably had the same thing going on under him with all the gang members he employed, he had aligned him self with a piru blood gang from compton but he had crips working for him in the label aswell.

ok

have an interesting comment since the bay area is being discussed

and bloods and crips are being discussed

bloods/crips have spread throughout the entire country, but have not established a foothold in bay area, even though oakland and LA are "relatively" close..

the answer is given in parts...

1)There was a song called "jus lyke compton" from admitted compton blood member and rapper DJ Quik..

early 90s song that predicted the spread of this stuff..and mentions running into bootleg bloods and crips as he toured the country...he mentioned a few mid west cities.
basically saying that these guys want to be "just like compton"

He has a verse on the same song about Oakland though, and he talks about how rough it is up there...rougher than where he's from actually...

2)one of the crime shows that used to air....american gangster or gangland...

a bay area cop was talking, gang expert...he said

"bloods and crips set up in "soft/ yssup" cities....if they came up here trying to set up on a corner....they'd get shot up within 5 minutes"

yeah bloods and crips are every where. There are quite a few certified gangs that were started by members who moved from the west coast during the eighties to sell cocaine.
take this guy for instance. its sort of true in a way that they mostly set up in areas where the locals aren't as organised or big.

Never heard of the Bay having LA gangs. Things were already established there by then. Bloods and Crips moved around b/c of the cocaine trade. Not just to "soft" cities. Trust me, KC isn't that soft in anybody's part of town. Maybe KS burbs. SD either. The mob had a grip on everything up here, so much so that there was even a "Black Mafia" that did their bidding in their neighborhoods. LA gangs, Brims and Jamaicans got a foothold after that group fell apart. It was pretty much perfect timing. Funny how that works out.
