Ahoi,

So there are various forms oc groups like the mafias use to communicate. The ndrangheta in italy use(d) Baccagghju and recently i heard that some groups used to adopt some kind of whistling "language"(there are real whistling languages, but i think that this one has just limited vovabulary and grammar) for their "talks" on the telephone.
In germany Ringvereine use drotwelsch until the 60s and other groups in europe also have and had their special forms of communication(and i dont mean pizzini).
have there ever been similar forms in the USA?
any ideas?

Mafia in Sicily use a lot of different hand gestures to communicate in person.

In the US, I've heard the Colombos are partial to Pig Latin. Owknay atwhay Iway eanmay?

No, I really don't have a video or article. I've never come across one and really, there shouldn't be one.

But in Sicily, they don't use the word mafia or cosa nostra between one another. They have a hand gesture to the face indicating someone is mafia. Then there is a hand gesture that someone has flipped, another hand gesture to indicate that someone was arrested. There's tons of them.

In American LCN I don't' think they really try to hide what they're talking about it seems they try to just avoid law enforcement by going to loud noisy places, having meetings at beaches, pools, random public places and leaving cellphones and other electronics at the door before meetings and checking eachother for wires and of course to some extent have their own meanings for things by using off put words but not to the extent of having their own dialect

La Eme and Nuestra Familia use the Nahuatl Aztec language, Aryan Brotherhood uses Norse. Black Guerrilla Family uses Swahili.
