Do you think Furio was a Made Man, a soldier in Tony's old crew? Or was he simply an Associate and Enforcer--Just purely Muscle without a Button?

My thinking is that Furio was made in Italy, pretty much precluding him from joining the American mob (although in real life, there have been a few exceptions to this rule).

Second that. He was probably made in the Camorra. Would've liked to see more of him, and the supposed crew of zips he brought over. They mention it, but you only really see him with one other zip in season two.

Furio was made in italy just like feech la manna was. I think paylie said "hes a friend of ours from the other side". Ceasere Boneventre from teh Bonnanos was also amde in siciliy and eventually became a capo withe the Bonnanos

yes, Furio is a camorrista, and he must have, an important role, since he goes to welcome Tony and the others at their hotel, he speaks English, and Annalisa Zucca does not want he go to America.I think Tony must create zips faction, with Furio and other camorra made men.More ruthless than the american wiseguy.

I wish they showed more of the mob side of things.

I respectfully disagree. Then it would have been just another mob show. And they're a dime a dozen.

The show was special because it did a balancing act between the family and "the family." That was Tony's conflict. And in my opinion, that was the whole point of the show.

I have no doubt that Furio was a made man. As JCrusher points out, he was introduced by Paulie to Johnny Sack as a "friend of ours." That gives you your answer right there.

Yes. Furio was made in Italy, and Paulie introducing Furio to Johnny Sack as a "friend of ours" shows that indeed Furio is a made man.

Absolutely, remember when Johnny Sac first met him at Vesuvio's? He was very humbled and excited to meet him. Also when he, Johnny, and Paulie pretty much kicked Pussy out of their "business" conversation? "Business" never gets discussed with a civilian.

i dunno if he was "made" in the sicilian/american meaning of that term

not all camorra clans held making ceremonies (blood oath, burning cards, etc…)
it's not part of their culture, unlike for the cosa nostra and the ndrangheta

but he was sure valued highly enough to be consider and treated as a made guy by neapolitan and american mobsters alike
