So guys, I think we (men) should be like old school mafiosi with some codes, behavior and honor. Do you know what is the "code of honor" of the old mafiosi? As far as I know they were much different than today's mobsters around the streets, so what makes a normal man, a "man of honor"? What rules do they follow?

Whatever they are, there is no way they could be like the ones they have today, because they dont have any rules.

This thread is douchebaggery. Gangsters feed off the weak.

Somewhere in between the last two posts.

I'd like to assume we on this board do not need to make ourselves feel better about being objectively bad people (hopefully because we're not objectively bad people) by creating an arbitrary "code of honor".

Old school mobsters prayed upon their own fellow immigrants with extortion, murder and probably even sexual assaults upon female victims. This whole code of honour only applied to people capable of the same things they were which is why they created all these rules to protect their own families from violence.

1. No one can present himself directly to another of our friends. There must be a third person to do it.

2. Never look at the wives of friends.

3. Never be seen with cops.

4. Don't go to pubs and clubs.

5. Always being available for Cosa Nostra is a duty - even if your wife's about to give birth.

6. Appointments must absolutely be respected.

7. Wives must be treated with respect.

8. When asked for any information, the answer must be the truth.

9. Money cannot be appropriated if it belongs to others or to other families.

10. People who can't be part of Cosa Nostra: anyone who has a close relative in the police, anyone with a two-timing relative in the family, anyone who behaves badly and doesn't hold to moral values.

Commandments from 2007 found in Palermo. At Lo Picolo house.

I think the idea of the Mafia at the beginning was something like the godfather, to help the weak people if you can, to live by your own rules and to provide for your family. Nobody wants to live in poverty.
