But if Bonnano takes about him being with him and the rest of the bunch im sure its a different guy.

In the Bonanno book, there is a picture of Bonanno´s father standing and shaking hands with Turi Saracino. Below the picture the text says "New York City, 1910. My father and Turi Saracino, two of Castellammare´s most important men of Tradition in New York."
If this picture was taken in 1910 (I have no reason to doubt it) the man shaking Bonanno´s father´s hand most probably is not Giuseppe Palermo. Palermo had been picked up in early January of that year and in February sentenced to a 18 year prisonterm. So when did Palermo find the time having a picture taken with Bonanno´s father?

Palermo seems to have had used an alias of Saracina though. According to David Critchley and I think that this is in his book "The Origin of Organized Crime in America" Palermo´s alias may have originated from the Castellammare born Giaccoma Saracina who briefly in 1906 had stayed with Palermo in Manhattan. Palermo used the alias throughout his life and it was the name he was buried under.

Thanks for the info buddy, i need to get Bonanno Sr.'s books, all i have are his sons, i always figured the son had less reasons to lie lol. Which one of Jr.'s book is this picture in? If anything the books are worth it for the pictures, like as in this case. Whic

You´re welcome buddy.

Sorrry, but I meant to say the picture can be found in Joe Bonanno´s book "A Man of Honor".

Lol i was wondering, i need to get that one. Have you reade Bill's new book, great read, it goes through a breakdown of all the commission meetings up to 1960s or so.

To continue topic, today in mob history:

1903 - New York police and Secret Service agents tell the press that a clue to the identity of the Barrel Murder victim soon might be found in New Orleans.

A truly epic murder.

All the early characters are in my book, David Critchley, "The Origin of Organized Crime in America."

To me, the Joe Bonanno book is very valuable. It´s a good read and it explains in good detail what the Mafia originally was supposed to be.
I have read the new Bill Bonanno book. But to get the full grasp of Bill Bonanno´s thoughts and life you also need to read his first one.
I recommend all these three books.

It´s "Bound By Honor"

Allthough the book "Honor Thy Father" shows somewhat the big picture, the details are riddled with inaccuracies. Probably because Bill didn´t give the author Guy Talese all the details so the author filled in the blanks by himself.
"Bound By Honor" is deeper and more personal.

Ok i have Bound by Honor not Honor Thy Father, i enjoy Bill's writing, regardless of whats true or not its always fun to me to read what somebody who was actually there thought about the times. Anyway im sorry but if i dont keep on topic i get in trouble, so:
4/18/1932 - Charlie Luciano is arrested by Chicago police as he visits that city.
4/18/1951 - The body of New York Mafioso Philip Mangano is found in a marsh near Jamaica Bay. Philip's brother, crime family boss Vincent Mangano is missing and presumed dead.

1872 - Mafia leader Joseph Agnello is shot to death at the Picayune Pier in New Orleans.
1903 - The identity of New York's barrel murder victim is revealed. He is Benedetto Madonia, an out-of-work stone mason from Buffalo, NY.
1948 - The planned deportation of racketeer Frank Cammarata is blocked.
