In a van down by the river!
When my wife bought me a PS3 for Christmas/Birthday she got me 2 games. Madden 2012 (What an upgrade from Madden 06 on Xbox!) and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

I'd played war games before, Medal of Honor or maybe a Tom Clancy one on xbox, and I was never good at them and never liked them much. So on Call of Duty: Black Ops I was thinking about returning it for something different but she talked me into trying it out.

Man, I bet she wishes she never had. Haha. I loved it. I took the 2 free games from the bundle pack and sold them to gamestop for store credit and ended up with 3 more Call of Duty titles and a few sports ones. I usually get Madden, A racing game (I haven't found one at a good price with good reviews yet) and a basketball, hockey, and baseball game and my collection was usually set.

I got MW3 with a gift card when Target had it at $40 instead of $60 and played that.

And I finished the single player portion of the games and was replaying MW3 when I found a different mode, kind of like a training mode type thing so I was playing that a lot.

Then we got internet, and holy crap the multiplayer is awesome. I haven't played video games this much in a long long time but it's fun again.

I died a whole bunch as I figured out what the hell I was doing, plus you start off with the basic weapons playing against people who have unlocked better ones...

Now I am still not great at it but I've raised my kills/deaths ratio from something like .20 to .45, which means instead of 2 kills for every 10 deaths my average is now 4.5 kills for every 10 deaths. Still not nearly anything to brag about.

I just hit the level where I can prestige which means you can start all over again after you choose what to spend your prestige token on. I don't know if I really want to start all over again with bad weapons but on the other hand it would be fun to do. I'll probably spend my token on one of my favorite guns that you unlock after level 40. Everyone says not to but I pretty much will need to with my "skills."

Who else plays? Bueller? Bueller?

I finally picked up a PS3 and have been playing MW3 online. Gotta love that it's free, unlike 360.

I've only played Team Deathmatch and Free For All. And I played Infected once and it wasn't too bad but I didn't understand how exactly I won and whatnot.

FFA is great and helped me a lot with TDM because it is so incredibly fast paced that you have to get better at noticing people and killing them quickly before they kill you.

It's kind of like a training mode I guess.

It rotates between...
18 Guns: Kill someone get a new gun, until someone gets to 18 and kills someone with it, knife someone and they drop a gun level.

3x6 Guns: Same concept as 18 guns but with 6 guns cycled 3 times.

AoN: All or Nothing. You start off with nothing but a throwing knife and an empty pistol with a knife. You kill someone and then you get ammo. This is very fast paced and fun. It ends up with a lot of people in one place all trying to stab each other.

OIC P99: My least favorite of the FFA games. This one is one where campers will get you. You get 1 bullet in a P99 pistol and if you kill someone you get another bullet. Die 3 times and you're done. Winner is the one with the most kills. The final 3 people all show up on radar to speed the game along. It ends up with 2 people camping and 1 person going after them most often. It's fun until you get killed for the 3rd time by someone camping near a spawn.

For FFA turn your sensitivity up a notch. I had mine on 2 but I have to use 3 or sometimes 4 if my brain is running slow.

I chose the portable radar when I prestiged. I found myself wishing I had picked a gun instead but now that I have my favorite gun the radar comes in handy. Except when I die placing it, which seems to be often.

I hated the Type 99 at first but once I got the hang of the 3 round bursts by playing 18 guns it became my favorite gun.

I'm back at level 45 or so, I don't think I'd prestige again because of how badly I was doing for those first levels. I like having everything unlocked and available to use.
